🍴 Rural Event of the Year: Shrewsbury Food Festival
🌸 Rural Event of the Year: Shropshire Petal Fields

From bringing thousands of people together over a love of food, to filling fields with flowers and creating events that bring our county to life, there's a lot of hard work, planning and a whole lot of fun that goes into what we do.

Last year, our Events Manager, Clare, came home with the Unsung Heroine award, so we've got everything crossed for bringing home another NOEA Award 🀞

A Fond Farewell to Shrewsbury Food Festival 🩷 🧑

After 13 incredible festivals in the Quarry, we're heartbroken to announce that Shrewsbury Food Festival has come to an end.

Since 2013, we've built an award-winning event that's welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors, supported thousands of small businesses and brought so much joy to Shrewsbury.

But the reality is that the cost of running a large-scale independent festival has become unsustainable. With rising costs across every aspect of the event, and households facing their own financial pressures, we simply can't make the numbers work without significantly increasing ticket prices.

We've explored every option, but as a small, independent, family-run business, we can't continue taking such a huge financial gamble each year.

This festival means so much to us. We built it from scratch, our children have grown up alongside it, and we're incredibly proud of everything we've achieved together.

We know this news will be disappointing for our visitors, traders, sponsors and the many local businesses that benefit from the festival weekend. It certainly isn't the ending we wanted. We are making this tough decision to remain sustainable for the future.

Shropshire Festivals isn't going anywhere. We'll continue delivering events across the county and beyond, creating experiences that bring people together and support our local communities.

To everyone who has been part of Shrewsbury Food Festival over the last 14 years, thank you. You've helped us make memories, bring smiles to many, and create something truly special.

Recreating Dig For Victory with Shrewsbury Mayor, Bernie Bentick πŸ₯” πŸ“Έ

Did you know that Shrewsbury Quarry was ploughed to grow potatoes as part of the war effort in World War II? The Dig For Victory campaign was a British Government Initiative launched to encourage people to grow their own food, and Shrewsbury Quarry was one of the locations chosen for that campaign!

Thanks to Shropshire Rural Support for the photo & information πŸ™Œ

Thanks to your generous donations, we're so pleased to announce that our dancing piggies, Shropshire Rural Support, raised Β£419.50 at this weekend's Shrewsbury Food Festival πŸ™Œ

Over in the Field To Fork area, Shropshire Rural Support hosted milking challenges on Scooby Moo and spoke to visitors about the Dig For Victory campaign right here in Shrewsbury Quarry. And occasionally, they made their way to the dance floor as inflatable pigs, and they were fantastic!
