Poole Beer Festival is East Dorset CAMRAs annual beer festival held at the end of October. The event is strictly over 18's only.

Calling dark b**r lovers! 🖤

As the nights draw in, we've got plenty of porters and stouts to keep you warm, and here are just a few to look out for at the festival:

🍺 Irish Coffee Porter from North Riding (Scarborough), 4.5%: a rich, dark porter with full coffee flavours and hints of Irish cream. A stout version of this was a previous b**r of the festival winner!
🍺 Eight Grain Porter from Still Brewing, 5.0%: brewed to the old Brew Shack recipe, it's a rich, full-bodied and smooth porter. A festival favourite is back!
🍺 Espresso Martini from Bristol B**r Factory, 4.5%: a super-smooth milk stout with roasted coffee. Shaken, not stirred, and gluten free.
🍺 Dorchester Imperial Stout from Copper Street (Dorchester), 8.5%: old-school flavour, dark and rich but not sweet, and vintaged for 12 months. One to sip slowly!

The last of our tickets returned from the pubs will be going on sale online at some point tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled for an alert when they're live!

Time to go Welsh! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We've got a cracking line-up of b**rs from Wales heading to Poole this year:

🍺 Dis-Mantle from Mantle (Cardigan): a strong 5.8% amber ale infused with a mix of British and East European hops, rarely seen in cask.
🍺 Welsh Pale from Glamorgan (Pontyclun): a light, easy-going 4.3% pale with citrus and tropical notes. Very quaffable.
🍺 Oxymoron from Cwrw Otley (Pontypridd): a black IPA with pine hops on the nose and hints of liquorice and treacle on the tongue.
🍺 Skirrid from Tudor (Abertillery): a light, vegan-friendly amber pale with soft hop flavours, and gluten free too.
🍺 Mosaic Pale from Grey Trees (Aberdare): a 4.2% pale, hoppy, modern session ale alive with citrus flavours and a smooth aftertaste.
🍺 Sunburnt Disco from Tiny Rebel (Newport): a 4.0% vibrant Pango Pale Ale featuring juicy peach and mango flavours.

That's going to be a proper Welsh corner of the bar!

Some of these are being brought down by yours truly, so if they run out early you know who to blame!

Next up in our b**r previews is one that's guaranteed to bring a smile (and some terrible monkey puns) 🐒

Funky Gibbon from Blue Monkey (Nottingham) is a light amber/copper bitter, brewed in memory of comedian and legendary bird lover Bill Oddie. At 4.2% it's an easy-drinking, "what a lovely tribute" sort of b**r. We hope it has you singing Funky Gibbon all the way to the bar!

It's now only 2 weeks till this years Poole B**r Festival and although we have been quite, we have been busy beavering away in the background. We have another fantastic b**r / c***r list ready for you and we can now start giving you a sneak peak at some of the b**rs to look forward to!!

Let's start things off with this stone cold classic - we've been able source Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby, an absolute festival favourite not normally seen around these parts. Weighing in at 6% this mild combines a balance of intense colour and flavour, making it an award winning festival favourite.

Every year when this happens the Poole B**r Festival team take a moment to pause and think wow! Thank you to everyone who has purchased a ticket since they went on sale earlier in the week - your continued support and enthusiasm for the festival means loads to us - it's the reason we still do it 💚

Tickets for Friday evening are now sold out online, and for Friday lunchtime are very low, we still have tickets online for both Saturday sessions. But fear not they are still available at one of our amazing pub friends...

We've been mostly resting since the festival but we've also done a bit of counting!

We love to support local charities as part of Poole B**r Festival and this year we are very pleased to announce that thanks to your generosity and kindness we have managed to raise a grand total of ..... 🥁

£3,127 for Wessex Wishes from the raffle
and
£1000 for Routes to Roots Poole from the tombola and donated unused tokens

Thats an amazing total that will make real difference to both charities, thanks once again to everyone who came to the festival and got involved - you're great 💜
