A truly enjoyable and inspiring experience at the Association of British Choral Directors - ABCD 40th Convention this weekend!

It was a real honour to be there, sharing ideas and engaging in so many interesting, insightful and inspiring conversations. A wonderful celebration of choral music, collaboration and community!

At the end of this September, we travelled to Malta with the brilliant Masterworks Chorale for a fantastic 48 hour tour! Masterworks Chorale were the first choir to ever tour with Sound Escapes back in 2019, so it was amazing to be with them on their fifth tour with us in such a beautiful place🎼🇲🇹

And receiving such wonderful feedback makes it all the more special!

It is always a pleasure to tour with returning groups, so we certainly hope there will be many more to come!☺🎶

This year we have had the pleasure of taking two fantastic choirs on weekend choral retreats! With workshops, concerts and plenty of time for socialising, these retreats are a great opportunity to do something fun with your choir group, whilst learning new things along the way🤩🎼

Bracknell Choral Society's retreat was in and around the wonderful city of Cambridge, and with Cardiff Ardwyn Singers we spent 3 days in the beautiful Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. We were lucky enough to receive some brilliant feedback from Cardiff Ardwyn Singers following their trip:

What a special 48 hours in Malta! 🇲🇹🎶

Now back home, I’ve finally had a chance to reflect on a wonderful trip with the amazing Masterworks Chorale on tour with Sound Escapes — and my first time visiting Malta!

Masterworks were the very first choir to tour with Sound Escapes back in 2019, and this was their fifth tour with Sound Escapes, making the experience even more special.

I was lucky enough to enjoy two beautiful concerts in St Paul’s Bay and St Julian’s before heading home, while the choir stayed on for their final concert, including mass participation, at the stunning Basilica of Saint Dominic & Porto Salvo in Valletta. I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of such a special tour.

I also managed to squeeze in some exploring, including a visit to the beautiful historic city of Mdina, with its stunning Baroque architecture, honey-coloured limestone buildings and magnificent Cathedral.

A wonderful choir, a fascinating island full of history, character and rugged beauty, and a very special experience. My first taste of Malta — and hopefully not my last!
