Future Makers is a creative studio in Nottingham, specialising in plastic recycling.

We work with post-use inflatables and event materials, transferring them into design led products such as bags, pouches, sacks, and other functional branded assets.♻️

This provides a practical circular solution for inflatable companies, event producers and experiential brands working with large scale temporary materials.

Rather than disposal or downcycling, we transform these materials into long lasting usable products that retain brand value.

A curated palette of circular sheet materials for design, architecture and fabrication.

FM Sheet Material is a range of recycled plastic sheets created in Nottingham, transforming post-consumer and post-industrial plastic streams into high-performance materials for contemporary design.

Each material has its own origin, composition and visual identity, from industrial offcuts to kerbside collections, event carpet and marine plastics.

🌙 The Lunar Society Take Over @ Future Makers

What a night! From hands-on making to inspiring talks, our creative community came together to share, learn and make.

Highlights included:
- A tour of the Future Makers studio with founder Tristan Hessing, exploring the space where recycled plastic becomes art and products.
- Eco-artist Sarah Turner sharing her collaboration on the Lady Godiva sculpture for Coventry Building Society, inspiring everyone with her innovative work using Future Makers’ sheet materials.
- A fun make-and-take session with Laura Mathews, where participants laser-cut festive reindeer ornaments.

We were also thrilled to welcome new faces, including miniature maker Curtis, who invited the group to a Kitbash model making and games day at Fishergate Point. The Lunar Society community keeps growing!

✨ Thanks to everyone who joined us for a creative evening of Show & Tell, networking, and hands-on making. Can’t wait for the next Lunar Society meet-up!

🌍 What a morning at Future Makers!

We brought together amazing people from across the creative, property + construction industries and the energy was incredible.✨

From our Plastic Revolution Schools Project to artistic sculptures, modular planters + our Circular Bike Store at Trent Basin… ideas were flowing and connections were sparking everywhere ⚡

We even squeezed in a walk to see the new bridge at Trent Basin, an architectural wonder!

Huge thanks to Julie Walters from The Property and Construction Partnership and Frank from Create Growth NG for all the support 💚

Everyone left inspired, excited + ready to make change happen and we can’t wait for the next one!

These talented minds are exploring advanced sustainable design projects, rethinking schools to be more environmentally, spatially, technically and socially innovative.

We were so happy to donate one of our original modular planters to the amazing team at 🌱

Footprints is a Nottingham based charity transforming the lives of children with mobility and communication difficulties, helping them build the skills they need to thrive 💖

It was an absolute joy to visit their new centre and see how they’re creating a welcoming space for families and the wider community.

Our planter now has a new home there and soon, it’ll be filled with plants thanks to 🌱
