GREAT FIRST SESSION 🚴

Well done to all of the riders that attended our first club coaching session this evening in Earlham Park. It was great to meet everyone and we look forward to having lots of fun on our bikes together.

We focused on a range of skills inc: standing up on our pedals, ducking under obstacles and taking a hand off the handlebars. We also finished off the session with a few slow races.

We are really excited to see how the club develops and grows in the coming months and years. We are already looking for additional coaches to help us build our capacity snd help even more young riders.

NEW CYCLING CLUB IN NORWICH 🚴‍♂️

Has your child taken part in one of our races? Would they like to develop their skills further? Maybe learn how to use their gears? Or learn how to climb/descend?

Well now Little Riders - Children's Cycling Courses and greenlightcyclingcic have teamed up to set up a brand new junior cycling club in Norwich!

norwichjuniorcyclingclub will provide weekly coaching sessions for children aged 6-12 years old.

Coaching sessions will run each week on Fridays between 5-6pm in Earlham Park in Norwich.

Sessions will include a range of fun cycling activities, including;
- Coaching
- Games
- Challenges
- Races
- Rides

All sessions will be delivered by experienced British Cycling qualified coaches who will be fully insured and first aid trained.

Sessions will cost £8 per session, paid in half termly blocks.

NEW SCHOOLS CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS ⚠️

Following on from the success of our Muddy Monster Race Series at weekends, we are extremely excited to announce that we will be running a cycling race event for schools too!

The Muddy Monsters Schools Cycling Championships will be held on Friday 23rd May in Eaton Park, Norwich (9.30-11.30 or 12.15-2.15).

Schools are invited to enter teams of 10 pupils (5 boys/5 girls). Pupils will have the opportunity to take part in three races:

- Sprint race
- Skills race
- Endurance race

We will be providing bikes for pupils to use, so all they need to bring is their own helmet.

So if your child loves riding their bike and would like to represent their school in this fun event, why not encourage their school to enter!

Alternatively, if you are a teacher or headteacher enter your school to take part immediately!!

NEW BALANCE BIKE COURSES 📅

We are super excited to share details of our first Balance Bike courses of 2025.

The course aims to give children aged 2.5-4 yrs old the chance to take the first steps towards learning how to ride a bike. 🚴‍♂️

During the course your child will take part in a range of fun story based activities. The activities are designed to give riders the motivation to get on a bike and also to develop lots of the fundamental skills required to ride it. 👍

We will be running courses in Norwich and Ipswich during March and June.

Places on the course only cost £45 per child, which we think is a great investment. 👌

Don’t worry if your child doesn’t have their own balance bike yet as we can lend them one.

LOCAL RACE ALERT!

Round 7 of the Eastern Cyclo Cross league will be held at Old Buckenham Country Park on Sunday 24th of November.

Cyclocross is a fun off road form of cycle racing where riders race around similar courses to the ones we use for Muddy Monsters.

Riders can use a variety of types of bikes including: cyclocross bikes, mountain bikes or hybrid bikes (eg Frog, Isla, Squish).

The race has categories for U10/12/14/16 boys and girls and entries are only £5 per rider.

ONLY A WEEK TO GO ⏳

There is only a week to go until the fourth and final round of the 2024 series. Have you entered your child yet?

The race will take place on Sunday 13th October (1.00-3.30pm) in Eaton Park in Norwich.

It will be the final time this year for your child to have a go at a fun grassroots cycle race.

Also, the overall series champions will be crowned at the end of the race.

Races are available for Boys & Girls in the following categories U8/U10/U12/U14.

Also, we have added a brand new U4 Balance Bike category 🚴💨

Entry is only £6 per child (£2 for Balance Bike).

BALANCE BIKE RACING 🏁

We are super excited to announce that we have added some U4 balance bike races to the final round of the Muddy Monsters series.

The races will give younger riders the chance to take part in sone fun races just like the older riders.

Riders will take part in races on shorter versions of the regular Muddy Monsters courses. There will be separate categories for boys & girls. Entry will only cost £2 per rider.

If the balance bike races are popular then we will continue them in next years Muddy Monsters series
