We were extremely pleased to enjoy a hugely successful evening for the Club last night, remembering the late, great, Derek Morgan.
We kicked off the evening with the unveiling of the new name on the stand, it will now be known as The W. G. D. (Derek) Morgan Stand, and we were pleased and honoured, on behalf of the Club, to be able to invite Derek's wife, Ruth, his eldest Son, Andrew, and daughter, Rhian, to unveil the new sign with a small group of friends and family on hand to witness the unveiling, along with our guests for the evening, "The 3 Amigos" who were England & British Lions internationals, Mike Teague, Peter Winterbottom and Dean Richards.
Following this, we the returned to the Clubhouse where we firstly enjoyed a beautiful meal that had been prepared and served by Wendy and the team, and the evening was then rounded off by a brilliant Q&A Session with our 3 special guests who relayed some stories about their experience of Derek Morgan, and gave us all an insight into their highly successful rugby careers. All of this witnessed by a full capacity audience that was made up of a wide spectrum of our Newbridge Rugby family, including several former NRFC players and a total of 7 former senior & 'B' internationals.
So, all in all, a hugely successful and memorable evening for the Club and all concerned. Thank you to everyone that attended and supported the event, we hope you all had a wonderful evening.
