Over the last few months, we've received quite a lot of messages asking for certain details of , so we've compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions.
If there's anything that you need to know that isn't covered in the list below, don't hesitate to ask, but these are the most common.
Q. Why did you change name from Slugfest in the Park, to XS-FEST?
A. Slugfest was always branded as the greatest free punk and metal festival in the world. After a lot of deliberation, we came to the conclusion that we needed to ticket certain parts of the festival and it felt completely wrong to charge for tickets under the Slugfest banner.
Q. Where is the venue?
A. Abertillery Park, Glandwr Street, NP13 1TP.
We'll give out the What3Words for all the different area's of the festival closer to the date, too.
Q. Where can we buy tickets?
A. Physical tickets are available at Kriminal Records - Newport, The Cab - Newport, For the Record - Pontypool, or from any of the organisers. Online tickets are available at: https://www.fatsoma.com/e/5d33v0ee/xs-fest-26
Q. How much do the tickets cost?
A. Friday - £10,
Saturday - £15,
Sunday - £15,
Full Weekend - £30,
Full Weekend plus camping - £55,
Camping for individual nights is £10 per night but can only be purchased with a ticket.
Q. Can we bring our dog?
A. Unfortunately, from this year on, there are no dogs allowed. This is due to the area being an active sports ground and a council red zone for dogs.
Q. If I want to turn up to the festival but I don't want to go into the marquee to watch the bands, do I have to buy a ticket?
A. No. Tickets are for access to the marquee (getting up close and personal to the bands) and camping area. If you want to come down and just enjoy the atmosphere, whilst having a few drinks, general admission is free. You can also access the merch stall, food vendors, and clubhouse without a ticket.
Q. What time does everything start and finish on each day?
A. Friday: bar 5:00pm - 12:00am / bands 6:00pm - 11:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: bar 1:00pm - 12:00am / bands 2:00pm - 11:00pm
Q. What time can we arrive to set up camp?
A. The Campsite will open at 2pm on Friday 3rd July, and you will be able to check in to the campsite at any time over the weekend during the bar opening times above.
Q. What time are (insert band you wanna see here) playing?
A. Every band playing this year's festival has had an announcement post on this page. Go to our timeline, scroll down until you see the band you're looking for, and under their band photo will be the day/time they are playing.
Q. Does the camping pass allow us to bring a campervan or motor home?
A. Yes, there is a large hardstand area next to the campsite for campervans and motorhomes.
Q. Is the festival wheelchair accessible?
A. Yes. Access to the bars, marquee, food vendors, and campsite is all accessible to wheelchair users.
Q. Will you still be donating money to charity?
A. Yes, we'll continue to be a not for profit organisation, and we'll continue to walk around jingling the charity bucket. We've also invited a few charities to attend the event and set up stalls for the weekend.
Q. Will the showers be open longer in the mornings this year?
A. Yes, shower facilities will be available until 11:30am Saturday and Sunday.
Hope this helps ❤️
