WHAT A MAGICAL NIGHT!

Our Lantern Parade was certainly one of the HUGE highlights of our Light in the Darkness Festival weekend!

Seeing the streets of Much Wenlock glowing with beautiful lanterns, smiling faces and a wonderful sense of community was truly unforgettable!

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it so special, especially our wonderful lantern makers, carriers and organisers!

WHAT A NIGHT! AND WE’RE ONLY JUST GETTING STARTED!

Last night was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The stories, the music, the laughter, the atmosphere… Much Wenlock truly came alive with the magic of Light in the Darkness!

There’s a real BUZZ IN THE AIR at Priory Hall!

Preparations are underway, the excitement is building, and the magic is starting to take shape as we get ready for this evening’s Light in the Darkness Festival!

The team is busy behind the scenes, getting everything ready for a wonderful weekend of stories, poetry, music, creativity and community.

Much Wenlock… the magic is almost here!

A message from the wonderful Danielle Free - certainly a show not to be missed!

A 'fragment' (see what I did there...the show is called Fragments ;)) of my backdrop for my Milburga storytelling show (painstakingly painted by onto fine and fuzzy hessian). The show has been commissioned by and will be performed THIS SATURDAY at 4:30pm in none other than Milburga's actual chapel in Much Wenlock. Say whaaaaaat?!

Putting this show together has been a project of both perseverance and passion. I didn't think I'd be telling stories of a saint having grown up in something that could be described as quite a 'pagan and witchy' household. Creating this show has challenged my assumptions and perspective on Anglo-Saxon Christianity and I AM HERE FOR IT (as in, here to be challenged - I don't think our opinions should ever be set in stone). I believe that more than anything in the world that what the majority of women want is autonomy. The church, of all places, in the middle ages, actually kinda offered this, to some degree. It offered women safety, sanctuary, and sisterhood.

I got to see Milburga beyond the religious doctrine and propaganda and meet her as a woman, a daughter, a friend and all of this I've put together in the show which you should absolutely come to see.
