🎃 CALLING ALL HORROR, GOTHIC & ALTERNATIVE TRADERS! 🎃

We’ve just confirmed our local venue in Middlesbrough town centre, and we’re now officially looking for traders for the Fear Screen International Horror Film Festival Alternative Market!

📅 Dates & times:
• Market‑only day: Wednesday 5 November, 10:00–17:00
• Festival market days: Thursday 6, Friday 7 and Saturday 8 November, 10:00–17:00 (with possible extension on busier days)
• Sunday 8 November: later opening (Remembrance Sunday – 12:00 - 17:00)

This is an indoor event in a busy town‑centre location with general public footfall, perfect for reaching horror fans, film lovers, collectors and creative audiences.

We’re looking for unique traders selling:
• Horror merchandise & collectibles
• Nerdy & pop‑culture products
• Gothic clothing, accessories & artwork
• Horror books, crafts, handmade gifts and more
• Alternative, fan‑focused and film‑inspired goods

If you’ve got your own stall, rails, stand or bespoke display, that’s welcome too, just send us photos and approximate dimensions so we can plan the layout.
Traders keep 100% of their sales. Pitch fees simply cover your space and event support.

• Whether you’ll bring your own table/stall or need one from us
• Any special requirements (extra space, wall position, electricity, non‑standard setup)

Special Effects Make-up Workshop with Patrycja Nowacka

Fancy learning creature SFX from someone who’s actually worked on the big screen? Patrycja Nowacka – make-up effects artist on 28 Years Later, The Rig, and Lore is coming to Middlesbrough for a hands on workshop.

You’ll get to watch Patrycja demo the effect on model Joe Duffy, then have a proper go yourself, building up the look in stages with guidance all the way through. Whether you’re into horror make-up, creature design, or just want to level up your Halloween game, this is a proper chance to learn from a pro.

Applications for the last one of 2026 Horror Film Challenge are officially OPEN. 🎬🩸

You’ll have 48 hours to take a set of unexpected creative challenges and turn them into your very own horror film.

No big studio.
No endless production schedule.
No excuses.

Just 48 hours, one team (or by yourself), one film and your imagination.

Challenge is running from the 16th October - 18th October!

Directed by Scott McCartney

“Baxter Hammond, a professional paranormal investigator specialising in cases of supernatural disturbance. With the assistance of his trainee, Danny, he deals with exorcisms, werewolves, vampires, and group therapy for his monstrous clientele. He approaches each situation with composure and professional detachment — a man fulfilling his duties with quiet conviction and little else.”
