We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to our second Room at The Top Wigan Takeover! The support was amazing, especially from those who had travelled so far to be there with us. Mad seeing people in daylight compared to the darkness of Manchester’s RATT events 😂
Brilliant job from all the DJs, Barry Maleedy, Knocker and Graeme, alongside the RATT resident spinners. Got to say, I thought Knocker’s set was absolutely superb. It fit the day perfectly. It must be over seven years since I last heard him DJ and it made me realise how much I’ve missed seeing him behind the decks. Graeme proved he’s still got it too, with some monster tunes still tucked away despite scaling down his collection, and Baz jumped on and hit us with all them big all nighter dancers! Big shout out to Barry as well for providing us with his superb sound system.
What I loved most was the across the board music policy, which is exactly what we always try to push at RATT Manchester. Aimee’s set was brilliantly creative as always and proved you don’t need thousands of pounds worth of records to put together a great set. Knocker blended them 60s and 70s spins together perfectly, and Connor did his thing mixing hardcore funky edge dancers with the surprise of Gloria Jones “Tainted Love”, Johnny Wyatt and more. Just brilliant, fun and creative music all day.
The Old Courts staff were amazing as always, manning the door and helping us have such a great day. Big thanks to the lovely Michelle too, who always makes a point of making everybody feel so welcome in that venue.

One thing we’ve already noted with ourselves and the venue is improving the dancefloor buffing and waxing for next time. But nevertheless, it definitely didn’t stop us having a mega day!
We’ll do it again sometime!!
