WE ARE ALL WHALLEYS IN THIS SWAMP 🐊
Introducing our good friends The Whalleys for our show this June 27th!
TICKETS ARE LIVE 🚨
Back in the late 50s, a gang of friends from Whalley Range became infected with the latest dance craze at the time: Rhythm & Blues.
Lola Moon, Screamin’ Bradley Charles, Dusty Stairs and Terry Taylor decided to take their passion a step further, writing and performing their own songs. The Whalleys were born, although they didn’t really know what they were doing. Masquerading their lack of skills with distortion and a lot of shoutin’ and a-howlin’. It all endend in a rather abrupt manner.
After a gig in 1964, they had a car accident returning from a show. They never made it back to Whalley Range. Not alive. They lost their bodies there, but not their souls nor their eagerness to play and have fun. The Whalleys didn’t go anywhere. Nor heaven nor hell.
They stayed around, indulging in every music scene that followed, falling particularly in love with the DIY ethos of punk. Lurking, loitering. Until now. 61 years after they took an unvoluntary break, they started a search to find the right people, with the right attitude, to possess them.
They got hold of them, they took control, and started introducing their very own Rhythm & Booze to a new audience.
See you 👀
