Sarehole Festival: "ArdaCon SBG International is the premier community event for players of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, bringing together players from around the world to meet in Manchester, UK and compete in a variety of tournaments, including the World Championships. It is also a completely free convention for all fans of Tolkien and Middle-earth.

We are delighted that they will be joining us on both Saturday and Sunday to run demo games and showcase scenarios from Games Workshop’s Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game — a tabletop miniatures game perfect for anyone interested in strategic gaming and hobby painting. They’ll also be bringing along display pieces and setting up a station where participants can try their hand at miniature painting!"

The FREE convention this August includes costumers and cosplay pageant, Middle-earth inspired artists, vendors and collectors, an exhibition, quizzes, Q&A panel with Radagast himself, Sylvester McCoy along with photo and signing opportunities, a cinema room, discounted food, beverage and hotel rooms plus free live music from Middle-earth inspired musicians and singers.

The Middle-earth Strategy Battle Gaming World Championships at ArdaCon may have sold out with a record breaking 246 players attending the tournament, but did you know there are tickets for anybody who wants to play Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th?

05/08/26 - Last Chance Qualifier, 700 points, 4 games
This one day tournament is open to all, regardless of whether you hope to win the final opportunities to join the MESBG International Masters tournament on Thursday and Friday.

06/08/26 - 07/08/26 - MESBG World Doubles Championships, 2 days, 6 games, 2x350 point forces.
Again, no qualification needed. Come and join what is guaranteed to be the largest doubles tournament in the history of Middle-earth, one of tabletop gamings most fun formats.

07/08/26 - Doubles Dash, 3 games, 2x350 point forces.
For those attending Friday onwards (or only) three frantic doubles games with your comrade in arms.

07/08/26 - Chaos In Arda, 400 points
This fun, 4 player battle royale with a card objective deck is a different and hilarious way to SBG. For those who aren't interested in the Big LOTR Movie Quiz innthe bar and just want more SBG.

ArdaCon and LIVE in Manchester this year have some of the world's best, multi-award winning miniature painters and artists, such as .art.wright whose gorgeous Glorfindel (pictured) captured Silver in the MESBG category at Golden Demon AdeptiCon this year 👏🏻

Joining .art.wright judging the prestigious Mithril Brush painting competition and ArdaCon's own painting competitions are the brilliant .tabletopart and 🤩

The English System Open returns at last and will be held in Birmingham this July, marking one of the final opportunities for players to win an invitation to the MESBG International Masters competition at ArdaCon 2026 as well as a discounted ticket for the MESBG World Championships during the weekend 🏆
