INFEST 2026 - ARTIST SPOTLIGHT – SYLVGHEIST MAESTROM

Sylvgheist Maëlström imposed himself on the electro-industrial scene, since 2010, with six albums (Connexion Bizarre and HANDS productions) with implacable rhythms, dark and cutting sounds (Lahar, Skaftafell, Pripyat, Norillag, Gandrange and his last album Grieve released in April 2025). In concert, Sylvgheist Maëlström relies on video to hypnotize the public (Ombra festival, Mannheim festival, WGT, Forms of Hands, Maschinenfest, ...). His set focuses on the cyclical brutality of natural and industrial catastrophic phenomena.

INFEST 2026 - ARTIST SPOTLIGHT – AUX ANIMAUX

Aux Animaux is a darkwave artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her songs draw inspiration from 80s darkwave and goth bands, as well as occultism and horror movies.

Born and raised in Istanbul, Aux Animaux is a self-taught musician who worked as a professional bass guitarist for several years before moving to Sweden. With Aux Animaux, she produces and mixes all her own music. On stage, she sings while alternating between theremin and bass guitar. The theremin, which she considers her source of sorcery, is the only instrument played without physical contact.

Aux Animaux released her first songs in 2017. Her debut EP Black Holes featured more politically charged material addressing animal rights, feminism and social critique. Her sophomore EP, Stockholm Synthrome, blended these themes with a more personal approach, including narratives around her decade-long struggle with misophonia.

In recent years, she has toured with artists including She Past Away, The Soft Moon, Then Comes Silence, Kontravoid, Buzz Kull, Traitrs, Patriarchy and DAF.

Modulate and Khurch will no longer be appearing at Infest 2026

Following several days of considerable discussion, and after receiving further guidance and advice, we have taken the decision to cancel the performances of Modulate and Khurch at Infest 2026.

As part of our earlier enquiries, we sought guidance from the police and domestic abuse organisations, and reviewed Subject Access Requests shared with us, which indicated that there was no official record of any follow-up police action.

In trying to understand the situation, we attempted to make an objective assessment, based on the information available to us at the time. Having reflected further on the wider impact this situation has had on members of our community, we now believe that continuing with the booking is no longer appropriate.

A considerable number of attendees, supporters, artists and members of the wider Infest community have contacted us to express concern and distress regarding the situation. After careful consideration, we have concluded that removing the performances from the line-up is the most appropriate course of action, in order to prioritise the wellbeing and comfort of all attendees.

We believe it is important to reflect, listen, and respond responsibly when concerns are raised, even in situations that are unresolved, complex or difficult to assess.

We are deeply sorry for the distress this situation has caused.

Infest has always aimed to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment, and we remain committed to improving our wellbeing, safeguarding and reporting procedures, so that we can respond more effectively and sensitively to situations of this nature in future.

We recognise that aspects of our handling of this situation have caused frustration, disappointment and distress within parts of our community, and we acknowledge that there is more work for us to do.

We are committed to listening, learning and engaging with the Infest community about how our practices, safeguarding processes and wellbeing procedures can continue to improve going forward.
