There will be a number of stalls in there in our Heritage Zone & we also believe Leyland in Bloom will be there to encourage little green fingers to take up planting & growing.

🙏🤠 Help required 🤠🙏

Leyland Festival is built by volunteers, for the community.

With just 3 weeks to go, Martin Stringfellow, Chairman of Leyland Festival, wanted to clear up one misconception.

South Ribble Council support the festival with a grant, but the planning, organising and delivery is done by a small team of around 12 volunteers who work all year to bring the day together.

Now, they need a bit of help.

We are looking for volunteers to support with:

Friday 19th June
Helping set up fencing, toilets and site areas
Marshalling traders into place during the afternoon

Saturday 20th June
Morning set-up support
Helping traders get into position
Stewards for the afternoon to help visitors find zones, toilets, first aid, lost children support and everything else they need on the day

You don’t need experience. Just a friendly face, a bit of time, and a willingness to help make the day run smoothly.

Garden Terrace Coffee House & Bar will be keeping everyone fuelled during the Leyland Festival Parade ☕🥪

Start the day with freshly made breakfast sandwiches before heading into the parade atmosphere… then later in the day, head over to the park where their incredible ploughman’s boxes will be available. 🧀🍎

Packed with cheeses, meats, chutneys and more, they’re the perfect festival picnic while you enjoy the entertainment across Worden Park. 🎪

Here’s a feel-good story for you this week. 🌿

After seeing the recent video about Rooted Connections CIC and the work taking place in the Walled Garden at Worden Park, Silver Foxes Bingo wanted to show their support with a kind donation of £500 towards the project.

The club, supported by Marlene Norris, Lorraine Gittins and its wonderful members, has been raising money for local good causes for over 15 years, including Rosemere Cancer Foundation, St Catherine’s Hospice and the North West Air Ambulance.

Their donation is another lovely example of the community spirit we have here in Leyland; local people supporting local people, and helping special places like the Walled Garden continue to grow.

A huge thank you to everyone at Silver Foxes Bingo for your generosity and continued support of local causes. 🧡

A huge thank you to all our happy sewists who have helped create well over a smile of bunting for Leyland Festival. 🪡🧵✂️

We now need any bunting that’s still out there to be brought back by Monday 1st June please.

You can drop it off in the bunting bin at The Coffee Lounge at St Mary’s any time it is open.

There will also be a Coffee Lounge drop-in and drop-off on Monday 1st June, 10am–12pm, where Angela and Julie will be there to collect bunting and say a big thank you in person.

Open Office is also open as usual, or you can DM us and we’ll arrange collection.

Thank you again to everyone who has sewn, donated, helped, shared and supported. Leyland is going to look brilliant. 🎪

What a lovely day at the Walled Garden 🌿

It was amazing to see so many people turn up today to support the project whilst also grabbing some real bargains at our plant sale.

The park was buzzing with the fantastic Brass Bands and the giant bubbles 🫧

A huge thank you as well to Barbara, Jane and Kath for giving up their time to help today, we honestly couldn’t have done it without you 💚

If you missed today, don’t worry - we’ll also be open tomorrow from 11am–2pm with plenty more plants available 🌱
