We’re excited to welcome Creative Lancashire as a supporter of both and the main festival in 2027, backing our mission to champion independent cinema and elevate the creative voices shaping Lancashire’s future.

Their support strengthens Firestorm’s work in building a home for local filmmakers, from our monthly Firestorm Presents screenings at Arc Cinema Preston, to the full festival next February.

The region’s film community is growing fast. We’re proud to grow it together.

Our team's trip to Lytham International Film Festival last week reaffirmed what we're doing with - there are so many fantastic films that never get to light up commercial cinema screens.

So in conjunction with the brilliant folks at Arc Cinema Preston we get to bring those films to the biggest screens in the city, every month, as we build up to a festival of our very own this February.

A very warm welcome to everybody joining the Firestorm family from our big brother festival in Lytham!

Since March, we've brought standout independent films to Arc Cinema Preston on the last Friday of the month, as we light the fuse for our festival next February. We've had films from LYIFF award winning filmmakers like Rebecca Rose, regional shorts like Bloody Hell, Nana, and curated selections every month from the Lancashire Film Network team.

Tickets for the next two Firestorm Presents screenings are now on sale via Arc's website, and this is just a small taste of the fun we have every month.

While Lytham International Film Festival might be over for 2026... LYIFF is actually just a third of the story, as our support for independent film continues through the wider family of events.

Coming up between now and our reunion at Lytham International next year:

- Firestorm Film Festival will run their monthly "Lancashire Firestorm Presents" screenings, ahead of their main event at Preston's state of the art Arc Cinema from February 4th to 7th.

- Fleetwood will get its film fix in March, as CineWyre Film Festival returns for its second year at the Marine Hall with documentaries, family friendly shorts & features, late night horror & thrillers, and new for 2027, curated Science Fiction blocks.

- Plus our Foot in the Door initiatives will continue all year round, as the journey to LYIFF 2027 begins in earnest (with submissions now open for all of these events).
