Tri-Service Charity Rally

After a brilliant evening filled with stories, laughter, great food, and a few well-earned drinks 🍽️🍻, the team set off the next morning in high spirits.

Before hitting the road, we made sure to grab some fantastic photos with Dragon Hotel Montgomery team and our cars — perfect for both their social media and ours 📸🚗 A great way to capture the camaraderie and support behind this journey.

With engines fired up, we then continued our route, heading towards the stunning Lake Vyrnwy Dam — ready for another day of incredible roads, views, and shared purpose.

After a fantastic pit stop at Parc Fermé Coffee ☕ and a great lunch together, our convoy rolled on toward one of the most iconic driving roads in the UK — the legendary Black Mountain Pass 🚗💨

Stretching over 20km of thrilling hairpin bends and sweeping curves, the route delivered truly breathtaking views at every turn. Spirits were high as we took on this unforgettable stretch, sharing the experience that makes this rally so special.

Our journey then led us to a site of real historical significance — Nant y Gro. This dam played a crucial role during WWII, where Barnes Wallis carried out explosive tests on a smaller-scale structure to develop the famous “bouncing bomb.”

A powerful moment of reflection, reminding us of the innovation and determination that shaped history — and why events like ours continue to bring people together for such meaningful causes.

After our visit to the waterfall, we made a well-earned stop at the unique little café, Fermé Coffee , to warm up after a very wet and cold climb of Pen y Fan, sort out a few blisters, and grab a hot drink before heading on to our lunch stop.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The team were genuinely interested in what we were doing and took the time to chat with us about the rally. Their enthusiasm led to a great opportunity—they kindly asked if we’d position the cars outside the entrance for some photos, both for us and for their page.

It was a fantastic stop, and we highly recommend checking them out!

Delayed post due to lack of internet to upload pictures—but here we go!

After a grueling climb of Pen y Fan, our participants moved on to our first more relaxed walk of the rally, heading out to visit the stunning Henrhyd Falls. It was here we met up with four more participants who weren’t able to join us for the climb, and it was great to have the group back together. There was plenty of catching up, with conversations covering everything in between since the last rally.

Following a brief walk, we were rewarded with some truly incredible sights. The falls did not disappoint, and we took full advantage of the opportunity—capturing plenty of photos and even walking behind the waterfall itself, which was an unforgettable experience.

With spirits high, we made our way back to the cars and continued onwards to the next stage of the journey. More to come soon!

DELAYED POST DUE TO LACK OF INTERNET AVAILIBILITY

🚨 RALLY STARTED! 🚨

On Friday, we officially kicked off our Tri-Service Charity Rally! Participants gathered at the start point before setting off towards Pen y Fan, ready to take on the major challenge of our fundraising journey.

The team then began the main event — climbing Pen y Fan serving members carrying an incredible 40kg load. With determination and resilience, they reached the summit as a group an outstanding time of 1 hour 45 minutes. An absolutely phenomenal effort! 👏

Unfortunately, we did lose two participants along the way, but they pushed themselves to their limits and should be proud of how far they made it. 💙
