The Hailsham Festival of Arts & Culture is held annually and represents a celebration of both professional and amateur talent, creativity and imagination centred in the market town of Hailsham and its surrounding area.

5th - 20th September 2026 Hailsham Festival of Arts & Culture returns for its 19th year with a vibrant September programme that celebrates the creative and cultural community at th

e heart of Wealden. Taking place between the 6th and 21st September, visitors are invited to join in and book a range of joyful, diverse and affordable events taking place in and around Hailsham. This year, new acts include Voices of Volya - a Ukrainian choir that performs locally, raising funds for medical equipment sent to frontline soldiers in Ukraine. In addition, there will be various live theatre acts, cult cinema screenings, Meet the Author events, Immersive theatre Jane Austen-style, Jazz, Pottery, Art Workshops at Gallery North, classical music recitals, a Carpenters Tribute … and much more. The annual Children’s Art competition & Creative Writing Competitions will all return. The Hailsham Art Trail is back - with local artists and makers showcasing their works of art in and around Hailsham’s retailers, cafes and restaurants. You may have noticed our site has been down lately - we've been hard at work updating the site to reflect the new programme which is going to be an absolute beast for this year!

We are celebrating Earth Day’s 56th anniversary today!

This year’s theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ holds many similarities to our plans for September’s Festival of Arts & Culture which focuses on empowering individuals and communities to take collective action for environmental protection. Like Earth Day, we believe that focusing on ‘The World Around You’ leads to local action and we are planning to host a range of events from community clean-ups to eco themed workshops and performances with this in mind.

So watch this space! The 2026 programme goes live in early June and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve got lined up for September.

The Hailsham Festival of Arts & Culture makes a grand return to celebrate its 20th year from the 5th to the 20th September!

This year’s Festival is shaped around ' The World Around You'. In our 20th year, this Festival is an invitation to look outward—at our environment, at one another, and at the shared spaces we inhabit.

Using the arts in all their glory, we aim to unite, reflect and inspire and invite you to celebrate a legacy of creative expression from the past two decades.

Booking goes live mid-June at www.hailshamfestival.co.uk - expect a packed programme of theatre, music, dance, film, art, and comedy for all ages and plenty of free community involvement.

The festive season is a time for sharing and we are so grateful to the winners who recently shared a sum from their winnings to us. This donation will go towards our planning and scheduling of the 2026 Hailsham Festival of Arts & Culture.
