Many Studios facilitates a dynamic, engaging, creative environment for its members and the public alike through our venue and studios provision. We currently have forty unique spaces and ov

er sixty members at our Ross Street studios, including two shopfronts facing onto the historic Barras Market; as well as a gallery space currently home to the independent, artist-run, Market Gallery. We also have a bright, airy, accessible Events Space with large street-facing windows available for hire. Opposite the studios is our recent project the ‘Pocket Park’, a collaborative public city garden project developed with architects New Practice. Composed of a series of raised block planters, it offers a pocket of green within an otherwise urban environment.

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟬! (𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁...) 🎈

Just over 10 years ago, officially moved into a building that we repurposed and retrofitted for artists in the city and further afield. Working with , we created 42 industrious workspaces, including a gallery/event space and three street-facing units, now hosting an independent gallery () and two small businesses ( and ). Over 20 artists joined us from our make-shift artist studios on Miller Street, and many artists have been with us the whole time (14 years!).

We don’t shout about our work a lot, but marking 10 years has been a fantastic opportunity for us to reflect on what happens here at Ross Street, and how important is has been to create a long-standing, independent creative place that supports artistic and cultural development in Glasgow. At the core of our work has been ensuring we can provide affordable, quality workspaces for creatives long-term, developing a model that supports the sector. But through that, we have consistently created exciting jobs, supported our membership in nuanced ways throughout their careers, and presented exceptional projects and programming for our local communities and for the city (including as ).

Keep an eye out for events marking 10 years at Ross Street throughout the year. You can also learn more about our services, studio members, projects and programme through the link in Many Studios’ bio.

Whats on at Many Studios Tonight?!

When everything’s starting to look the same, sound the same, and follow the same shortcuts, it’s easy to get swept up in that wave of sameness. Suddenly, you don’t sound like you anymore – and you’re not standing out. Lola Hoad from Good Call Studio is here to stop you drowning with her gift of a life jacket (in the form of a talk, workshop and Q&A at the next Jot).

Jot is a free event series for people who write – that’s anyone from copywriters, to emerging creatives, to social media managers, and beyond.

We’re really pleased to be hosting ‘aweys gaun’ by Zoë Zo, Zoë Tumika & Zoë Guthrie at Many Studios for Glasgow International 2026. ‘aweys gaun’ portals to a dream that drenches over and seeps through the stories of Western modernity, specifically the chapters leading up and dedicated to an enlightened Caledonia. Propelled by pleasure, curiosity, and ancestral rhythms, ‘aweys gaun’ honours the longstanding “hereness” of Black life in Scotland, calling and responding to, swaying with, the Black Atlantic hum.

Massaging the slippery matter of memory, Zoë Zo, Zoë Tumika & Zoë Guthrie presents a series of ceramic panels, vessels and works on paper along with an audio work made in collaboration with broadcaster, artist, and DJ Ashley Holmes ( ) and a newly commissioned text from curator, artist, and writer Żżo Charlery (

Zoë Zo, Zoë Tumika & Zoë Guthrie is a Glasgow-based artist who engages with clay and image (re)production. Frameworks from Black Feminism, geographies, and studies, and African cosmologies underpin their approach to narrative building and dismantling, listening and questioning, and exercising of liberatory practices. They are currently in residency at Glasgow Sculpture Studios. Their work has been exhibited at the Reid Gallery, Glasgow, London College of Fashion, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, and Chelsea Space, London. Zoë Zo, Zoë Tumika & Zoë Guthrie is a studio holder at Many Studios, based in industries building in the Barras Market.

aweys gaun is produced by Emmanuella Damptey and supported Many Studios, Glasgow Sculpture Studios, National Lottery through Creative Scotland, Stuart Hall Library & Iniva.

Event / Irineu Destourelles and Natalia Palombo In Conversation

Join us on 30th April 6pm at The Common Guild for a conversation between .destourelles and our director as part of Library Sessions.

We’ll discuss ‘Thirty-two Texts with Distress’, a solo exhibition by Destourelles currently on view at Gorbals Public Library, and Destourelles upcoming project for Glasgow International .

Destourelles’ work engages language as both subject and material — fractured, re-assembled and made visual across text, sound and installation. His conversation with Palombo will explore how the dialogue between artist and curator shapes ideas, structures projects and becomes a form of writing in itself. The discussion will reflect on joint projects including ‘Does it Fall from the Skies Above?’ and ‘Thirty-two Texts with Distress’, considering how conversation, process and partnership influence the final form of artworks.

Event details /
→ Thursday 30 April, 6-8pm
→ 5 Florence Street, G5 OYX

Many Studios has been providing fantastic (if we say so ourselves) workspace and project space for nearly 15 years in Glasgow! When we took over a repurposed office space in Miller Street we knew it was imperative to find better, long term solutions to providing space for artists. We redeveloped an unused building in the barras and have been working hard since to ensure the conditions for long term commitment to our communities through physical space and now more than ever we cherish that offer. We have to work together as a sector to protect our spaces for artists and cultural production. Actions below.

We need your support.

Glasgow Print Studio is facing rising rent and increasing running costs, putting a vital creative space - and the artists who rely on it - at risk.

For over 50 years, Glasgow Print Studio has been a place where people come to learn, make, and build sustainable creative careers. Losing it would mean losing access, opportunity, and an important part of Glasgow’s cultural life.

Here’s how you can help:

* Attend a peaceful protest and stand with us
Join us to protest Friday 27 March, 12 till 2pm, 229 George St, Glasgow, G1 1QU

Every action matters, and every bit of support helps protect this space for future generations of artists.
