A massive THANK YOU to all our wonderful volunteers for helping out yesterday. From the lead bikes, marshals on course and at Tilsley Park, water stations, photographers and tail bikes, we really couldn’t do this without you.

You are the heart of the Abingdon Marathon, you are such an essential part of making race day successful. We appreciate every single one of you 💚

The committee has been busy preparing for race day tomorrow, and it’s great to see all of our hard work finally coming together.

You might not realise that our entire committee consists of dedicated volunteers with a passion for running, and all proceeds from the marathon go directly to supporting local charities. This community spirit is truly what gives the Abingdon Marathon its special character.

Tomorrow’s weather looks absolutely ideal for running, with cool temperatures and only a slight chance of rain around lunchtime.

We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning!

Have you wondered where the design on the T-shirt came from?

The very old mural on the underpass depicts the history of Abingdon Marathon and you will run past it on Sunday.

You can still order t-shirts until a week after the marathon ends, and we will have a limited selection to purchase on race day, cash only.

The committee is busy getting ready for Sunday so there may be some delays in responding to emails. Please remember to read the race information book and visit our website if you need any information.

‼️Some key things to be aware of:

The following facilities will be available at Tilsley Park on race day:
⭐️changing facilities
⭐️showers
⭐️toilets
⭐️bag drop
⭐️refreshments
⭐️post-race massage (additional fee)
⭐️information desk

👉🏼 Up and Running will no longer be available at the start so don’t forget anything on race day.

🚘 Please remember there is NO parking at Tilsley Park. Follow the parking signs to the nearest available car park - full details on our website - DO NOT park in residential areas near Tilsley Park!

Please also remind spectators to park considerately, and not to park in car parks belonging to businesses or sports clubs (e.g. rugby club or rowing club), not to park on the course, some of the streets are narrow, and not to block resident driveways!

Maybe you didn’t get into London but you did get into one of the best autumn marathons 🙌🏼 we can’t wait to see all you amazing runners in October.

We have sold out and have a long waitlist, so if you didn’t get into Abingdon either, make sure you’re quick off the mark next February for the 2027 edition. We don’t run a ballot but we do sell out quickly!

Also a reminder that transfers can only happen via the entry portal so be wary of anyone on social media posting they have a place to sell.
