First flyers are printed and going into our dispensers this week. It is only May but we need to make sure the message about the change of venue has time to sink in. The Abbey Buildings starts on its new adventure soon and will be closed for a year while the refurbishment takes place. We have found a warm and welcoming new home at St Helen and St Katharine on Faringdon Road.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Bank Holiday Walks in Abingdon – Monday 25 May
Join us for a fantastic morning of guided walks exploring Abingdon’s history, rivers, wildlife and hidden stories. Whether you fancy a gentle stroll or a longer walk, there’s something for everyone.
📍 Book in at the stall on the Market Place from 10:00am on the day
🕙 Walks start at 10:30
👟 Please wear comfortable shoes or boots
Choose from:
• 1556 Boundary Walk – approx. 4 miles with a Town Councillor and Town Crier
• Lost Abbey Tour – 1 mile around the former Abbey site
• Rivers of Abingdon Walk – 4½ miles (option to return after 3 miles)
• Stories from the War Memorial – 1½ miles (starts at 10:40 from Memorial)
• Biodiversity Walk – a gentle 1‑hour ramble with an expert
ℹ️ Prefer to go at your own pace? Pick up a leaflet from our Market Place stall on the day, or download one from our website. There are around a dozen self-guided walks to choose from. Just follow the QR code on the poster.

Clubs and Societies Day next.

The Easter Bunny has gone back into his burrow for another year but there's more happening on the Market Place again this weekend. On Saturday 11th April look out for the Clubs and Societies of Abingdon who will be reaching out to tell Abingdonians what they do. Stalls will be set up in the Guildhall, in St Nic's Church and in Unit 25 on Bury Street as well as in the Market Place. Come and find out more about what makes Abingdon tick.
