🍅 Spanish fresh fruit and vegetable exports grew by 5,8%, reaching almost €11,6 billion in the first half of 2026.

Between January and June, Spain exported 6,6 million tonnes, 0,6% less than in the same period in 2025. However, the value of exports increased to €11.605 billion.

Vegetables performed particularly well, generating €5.431 billion (+9%), driven by products such as peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and courgettes. 📈

These numbers show the strength and competitiveness of Spain’s fruit and vegetable sector in international markets.

🍅 Las exportaciones españolas de frutas y hortalizas frescas crecen un 5,8% y rozan los 11.600 M€ en el primer semestre de 2026.

Entre enero y junio, España exportó 6,6 millones de toneladas, un 0,6% menos que en el mismo periodo de 2025, pero el valor de las exportaciones aumentó hasta alcanzar los 11.605 millones de euros.

Las hortalizas destacan especialmente, con 5.431 M€ facturados (+9%), impulsadas por productos como el pimiento, el tomate, el pepino y el calabacín.📈

Un dato que refleja la fortaleza y competitividad de la hortofruticultura española en los mercados internacionales.

🚇 Metro: Line 8, Feria de Madrid – IFEMA MADRID station.
🚌 Bus: Lines 73, 112, and 122, and Line 828 from Alcobendas.
🚆 Cercanías: Valdebebas station.

Using a car? 🚗 You can reach IFEMA MADRID via the M-11, M-40, or A-2 highways, although we recommend using public transportation to avoid traffic and the hassle of finding parking.

📊 What do the latest numbers tell us about trends in the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector?

The latest Fruit and Vegetable Seasonal Report highlights a particularly significant trend in greenhouse vegetables: while the volume of exports has been 3.2% below the average for the past five years, the value of these exports has risen by 22.3%.

This data points to a trend in which the value generated is becoming increasingly important versus the volume sold, in a market that is increasingly focused on differentiation, quality, and the ability to meet the demands of international markets.

📊 ¿Qué nos dicen los últimos datos sobre la evolución del sector hortofrutícola español?

El último Boletín de Situación de Campaña de Frutas y Hortalizas muestra una tendencia especialmente relevante en las hortalizas de invernadero: mientras el volumen exportado se sitúa un 3,2% por debajo de la media de los últimos cinco años, el valor de estas exportaciones crece un 22,3%

El dato apunta a una evolución en la que el valor generado gana peso frente al volumen comercializado, en un mercado cada vez más orientado hacia la diferenciación, la calidad y la capacidad de responder a las demandas de los mercados internacionales.
