SistahFest

SistahFest "Recognizing and celebrating intergenerational women though arts and education." To share stories, to heal, and to celebrate the power and beauty of women.

Sistahfest™ was started in Ottawa, Ontario in 1996 by Masani Montague and Mertella Montague then was relocated to Toronto, Ontario in 2006 as part of Rastafest™. The festival has now evolved into an independent entity, highlighting the struggles of women through the utilization of the arts and education. Sistahfest™ was born out of recognition of the importance in the celebration and empowerment o

f women, through edutainment. We gather as intergenerational women to honor and recognize our strengths, passion and common struggles. Sistahfest™ is a multi-discipline arts/culture festival showcasing female artists and educators through the utilization of workshops, theatre production, spoken word, dance and music.
