MORE NOISE PLEASE & VENUS FEST PRESENT

FOSSA SÉU

is an experimental electronic and free jazz performer, based in Toronto, Canada. Fossa’s performances unfold through experimental vocals, earthy grooves, cosmic electronic distortion, and embodied interpretations of rhythm, influenced by 70s jazz fusion and vocal percussion. Beyond his solo, Fossa’s latest  collaborative project, Down Out Consort focuses on collective improvisation along with deep listening practices and the creation of community within Toronto’s free improv scene. The ensemble is influenced by the Afrocentric and diasporic backgrounds of its artists, which informs their collective sonic dialogues and exploration on stage and beyond.

MORE NOISE PLEASE & VENUS FEST PRESENT

GRIEF DEBT

named for every loss incurred without due grieving, is a visually striking experimental sound and performance art ritual that strives to pay what is owed. The project consists of Stephen Schooley, a classically trained pianist/composer of noise and techno (Honeymoon Phase), and artist unitnumbernine who recently decided they would like to writhe and wail in a sea of witnesses.

GRIEF DEBT made their debut in October 2025 with their self-titled EP. Their performances dovetail resistance and surrender through harsh pleadings in poetry and broken time.

VENUS FEST MENTOR 2026 ✴️ HAVIAH ✴️ didn’t need an alias when she decided to dedicate her career to music. Also her real surname, Mighty could not better describe Haviah’s craft of provocative challenges and uncompromising truths. Born in Toronto, she has spent a lifetime developing her skills as a songwriter, vocalist, producer and performer, culminating in a style of profound introspection and authenticity.

Her dynamic combinations of rap & song, whether lyrical, celebratory or incisive socio-political critique, transcend any traditional expectation of genre. 2019 saw Haviah earn break-out success with her album ‘13th Floor’, an inaugural work chronicling the deep-seeded traumas of her ancestors - making her the first hip-hop artist and the first black woman to win the Polaris Music Prize, celebrating the “Best Canadian Album Of The Year” - but Mighty didn’t stop there! She released a JUNO Award Winning mixtape, ‘Stock Exchange’ (Nov 2022) making history once again as the first woman to ever win within the rap category. In 2022, Haviah was the only Canadian nominee of the BET Hip-Hop Awards.

All eyes stay glued on Haviah as she solidifies her impact in the music industry, receiving praises from the
likes of NPR, COLORxSTUDIOS, Sway In The Morning, Pitchfork, Fader, KEXP, BBC Radio 1, HipHopDX,
Rolling Stone, HotNewHipHop & more. She’s previously toured with The Arkells, Sampa The Great, Shabazz
Palaces - and she's opened for G-Eazy, Desiigner, Connor Price, Kardinal, Shawn Desman etc. Haviah continues
to push forward, carving out spaces that boldly defy gendered expectations for women in hiphop.
Unyielding and irresistible - Haviah Mighty will be heard.

Venus Fest Mentor 2026 ✴️ PRADO MONROE Born in Vancouver, BC, the Afro-Métis artist signed her first label agreement in 2020 with TMWRK Records (LA, NY) and, in 2021, with ZDBT, for the collaboration instant classic “Elastic”. These two projects, released in 2021, marked the start of Prado's artist development, as she took programs to enhance her career and businesses in Toronto, ON, in 2022.

Throughout this time, she gained skills in Grant writing, research, performance and song development, project planning, and project management. Since returning to Vancouver, she has been dedicated to nurturing the communities that raised her and contributing as an artist, friend, and leader in the underground music community.
