Thank you seth cardinal dodginghorse and Esssena, bringing our 10th anniversary festival to a close. 👯👯Husna seth cardinal dodginghorse

After days of workshops, conversations, art, music, and dancing. Thank you to everyone who made this year’s festival happen. To the artists who shared their work, our volunteers, collaborators, organizers, community partners, and to every single person who came through.

Over the past ten editions, Venus Fest has grown and changed alongside the community that continues to shape it.💗💗

Thank you for celebrating ten years with us. We’re so grateful for everything we’ve shared, and excited for what comes next.

P.S. We’ll be sharing recorded sets from this year’s festival on our SoundCloud soon!🎼🎧

Venus Festival Day 02 Dump!😚😚

Renelyn Quinicot-Bastos led us through a slow and connecting flow session with Rest Portal. Followed by an artist conversation with Juliana Huxtable and Nahrain Yousefian. We also danced the whole evening away with Donna Come Home, Honeydrip, and Juliana Huxtable.👯‍♀️👯

And a special thank you to for lending us their haptic pillows, all the vendors from Kabuté and Friends market, and All Flowers Mahjong, it was such an incredible curation!
Thank you to It’s OK* for hosting us and PYNE for an artist talk on our Day 01 of programming as well ☺️☺️ (Slide 3,4)

Shout out to all the artists, facilitators, collaborators, and everyone who joined us throughout the day and night 💐💐

A little look back at our Sound System Building Workshop with Honeydrip 💌👌🏼

As part of our 10th anniversary programming, we gathered at Osler Records Osler Records for an evening of hands-on learning, building, and sharing knowledge through sound.🫂🎵🎼

Led by Honeydrip, participants explored the process of building a two-way passive speaker from the ground up, from assembling the cabinet to soldering, wiring, and understanding the components that bring a sound system to life 🎧🎤

A big thank you to Honeydrip Honeydrip for sharing her knowledge and practice with us, to Osler Records Osler Records for hosting, and to everyone who came out to learn, experiment, and build together.

Where all our gardens meet" (2023-26) searches the past and the present for a future free from fences, walls, and borders. In our gardens, the dirt makes the worm's work invisible. In the work of world-building, invisibility both isolates and protects us, whether our struggle is located at the housing action, after a bad doctor's appointment, under a quilt, across the dance floor, in a Signal call, or when we have a fight.

Within each capsule of this installation, textile-based worms crawl over books, zines, craft supplies, and each other. They reveal glimpses of the sometimes joyful and often messy work of world building, but keep much of it a secret. The worms beckon us to search both our gardens and ourselves for where the work we inherit is felt, even when it is hidden or out of reach.
