During today’s Future Engage session at Rothesay Hive, our seniors had the opportunity to participate in a lively speed chatting event with a group of elementary students. The morning was filled with smiles, sharing of stories and memories, and heartfelt conversations. It was great to see meaningful connections being made across generations!
Each senior brought unique and meaningful items from their past, which sparked conversations about hobbies, history, and so much more. Thank you to everyone who participated and made the morning so special!

🌟 Culturefest is back, and we need volunteers to help make it a success! 🌟

The Saint John Newcomers Centre is excited to invite community members to support the 8th International Culturefest on August 1–2, 2026 in Uptown Saint John! 🎉 Join us in celebrating culture, community, and connection at one of New Brunswick’s biggest multicultural events.

We’re looking for volunteers to help welcome visitors, support the festival, and be part of a meaningful community celebration. Volunteer hours on both days are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Saint John Newcomers Centre is excited to invite ethnocultural groups and community organizations to join the Cultural Village at the 8th International Culturefest on August 1–2, 2026 in Uptown Saint John!

For seven years, Culturefest has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors and grown into one of New Brunswick’s biggest multicultural celebrations. The Cultural Village is a special space where communities can proudly share their culture, traditions, heritage, and stories through displays, activities, clothing, arts, crafts, and more. ✨🎨👘

🕚 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

This year, we are reaching out across New Brunswick and hoping to welcome even more communities from different parts of the province. Space is limited, and selection will focus on cultural diversity and festival balance. Communities that have not joined before, or have joined less often, may receive priority. Groups that already shared their interest earlier this month may also receive priority during review.

We are also making updates to the site plan and security planning to help create a safer, smoother, and more welcoming experience for everyone. 💙

What an incredible evening celebrating culture, diversity, and community! 🌏✨
Yesterday, we were proud to host our Cultural Exchange featuring the Indian and Filipino communities as part of Asian Heritage Month at SJNC. 🇮🇳🇵🇭

The event was filled with amazing cultural presentations, traditional dances, talented singers and performers, beautiful cultural crafts, and delicious food that brought everyone together in celebration and connection. 💃🎶🎨🍛

It was truly inspiring to learn more about the rich traditions, heritage, and stories of these two extraordinary cultures while creating meaningful connections within our community. 🤝❤️

Participants explored Brazil’s diverse landscapes, festivals, and traditions while also enjoying a taste of delicious Brazilian cuisine.
