Celebrating 50 years of manufacturing excellence - and investing in the next generation!
What a fitting place to celebrate an exciting new chapter for manufacturing in New Brunswick.
As ALPA Equipment marks its 50th anniversary, EMC was pleased to join the Government of New Brunswick and industry partners to announce the new Youth in Manufacturing program - a three-year initiative that will connect up to 300 young New Brunswickers with paid employment, training and career opportunities in manufacturing.
EMC is proud to play a role in creating pathways to 300 jobs for young New Brunswickers, while helping manufacturers build the skilled workforce they need to grow and compete.
Congratulations to ALPA Equipment on an incredible 50 years, and thank you for helping us celebrate both the history and the future of manufacturing in New Brunswick.

EMC's Joint Advancement Certification offers a unique learning model where frontline workers and their supervisors participate in concurrent programs—creating immediate, on-the-job application of new skills.

Frontline participants receive direct, ongoing support from their supervisors, while supervisors develop essential coaching and mentorship skills they can apply right away. This two-pronged approach strengthens communication, improves performance management, and builds a more cohesive, effective manufacturing workforce.

By investing in both levels of your team, companies see improved problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and overall workplace culture.

We’re proud to announce that Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) has joined Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) and the Canadian Skills Training and Employment Coalition (CSTEC) to lead the new Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Alliance.

As JP Giroux, President of EMC, shares in the video, this is an opportunity to bring Canada’s manufacturing community together around one critical question:
How do we ensure Canadian manufacturers have the people and skills they need to compete, innovate and grow?

Manufacturers are navigating skills shortages, demographic change, supply-chain pressures and increasing international competition — while automation, robotics, AI and other advanced technologies are transforming the skills needed on the shop floor.

The Alliance will help turn those challenges into practical action by:
- Bringing manufacturers directly into workforce intelligence and skills planning
- Connecting technology adoption with the workforce capabilities needed to make it successful
- Supporting Canada’s domestic production and defence readiness
- Building stronger pathways into manufacturing for the next generation of talent
- Developing practical, industry-led workforce solutions that can be tested and scaled

At EMC, we believe manufacturing competitiveness comes down to People, Process and Plant/Technology. Investing in technology without investing in the people who use it limits the impact.
This Alliance is an opportunity to align those investments — and to make sure Canadian manufacturers are ready for what comes next.
