The Georgian Bay Children’s choir welcomes singers ages 6 through 19. Founded in 1986 by Mary Lou Tremills, the choir performs sacred, secular, folk, and world music with an emphasis on Canadian content. The choir performs concerts each December and May. The choir’s multi-level program (Carillon, Rhythm, & Chamber Ensemble) is directed by Linda Hawkins and Dr. Regan MacNay, and is designed to promote excellence in performance and music literacy in a relaxed, fun, and safe environment.

The Chamber Ensemble has participated in festivals and competitions from coast to coast in Canada, in the United States and Europe, and has hosted festivals and choirs from around the world. Almost every other year, Chamber Ensemble travels internationally to compete or participate in international music festivals.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Georgian Bay Children’s Choir, a Family, Alumni & Friends choir has been created by Dr. Regan MacNay for this Saturday’s concert. They will perform “The Ground” (by Ola Gjeilo) by themselves, and “You Will Be Found” (from the Dear Evan Hansen musical) and “Hope for Resolution” with the children’s choir.
