Celebrate North York’s vibrant cultures, diverse cuisines and community connections with delicious food vendors, live music, art, dancing, kids activities and NeighbourLink’s Meet & Eat! Korean, Chinese, Persian, Ukrainian, Brazilian, Filipino, South American, South East Asian, Caribbean and Indian cultures will all be represented! Net proceeds support NeighbourLink's food bank and community care programs.⁠

What a way to start the day in Yonge North York! ☀️🏃‍♀️

This morning, thousands of runners kicked off their Toronto Marathon journey right here at Mel Lastman Square, and the energy was incredible! From the early start to the sunny skies, it was amazing to see families, friends, and community members come together to cheer on 22,000+ participants from over 70 countries.

Moments like these remind us how special our neighbourhood is: full of support, spirit, and community pride.

Congratulations to everyone who ran, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success!

Toronto Marathon returns!🏃‍♀️⁠

The annual Toronto Marathon is back on Sunday, May 3, 2026, welcoming 22,000+ participants from over 70 countries, all starting their journey right here at Mel Lastman Square.⁠
⁠
Since 1977, this incredible event has raised over $18 million in support of important charities including Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, SickKids, Mount Sinai, MS, Diabetes Canada, Habitat for Humanity, and more.⁠

🚧 Event Notice & Road Information⁠

Please be advised that the marathon route will pass through the Yonge North York area, with road closures and traffic impacts expected on race day.⁠
⁠
⏰ Race Start Times:⁠
• Marathon – 7:30 AM⁠
• Half Marathon – 8:30 AM⁠
• 5K & 10K – 7:30 AM & 8:00 AM⁠
⁠
• Hwy 401 ramps to Yonge St (southbound) will reopen by 10:00 AM⁠
• Police will be on-site at key intersections. Expect some delays⁠
⁠
The event team works closely with City services to minimize disruptions and reopen roads as quickly as possible.⁠
