Quick Halloween reminder before Saturday, friends!

As you're picking out costumes for yourselves or the kids, please skip anything that turns someone else's culture into a costume. Headdresses, darkened skin, "geisha" outfits, exaggerated accents. What feels like harmless fun for one night is something other people live with every single day.
I know most folks don't mean any harm. But meaning well isn't the same as doing well, and the people on the receiving end feel the impact either way.

So here's my ask:
👀 Take a second look before the costume goes on
💬 Talk with your kids about why some costumes hurt
🧡 Speak up, kindly, if someone you love crosses the line
There are SO many fun, creative costumes out there that don't come at anyone's expense. Let's make this a Halloween where everyone in our community feels welcome. 👻

Last December we shared a table with people who had nowhere else to go for the holidays. They left full, with a gift to open later, and knowing they were family here. This year we want to welcome even more. Every $35 = one full holiday meal. Your Halloween ticket helps make that happen.
