Shenanigans is hosting the official Subsonic After-Party at The Lass.
Shenanigans has been Newcastle’s home of house and techno for more than four years. What started as a small friends-and-family gathering at The Lass has grown into one of the region’s most respected underground events, known for its consistent atmosphere, strong lineups and a dancefloor that always feels connected.
Their roots tie back to Subsonic in a real way. Shenanigans was inspired by their first trip to our festival in 2016 and shaped a lot of what they do now. Hosting our official after-party feels fitting and full circle.
This Saturday they are transforming The Lass into a Freaky Tiki dreamscape and rolling out their biggest program yet. Expect three international artists from our lineup, supported by sixteen Australian selectors covering techno, house and psy-tech. Box Events will be reworking the venue and Panda Sound will be running two stages with their signature Danley system.
It is an 11-hour, high-intensity session built for people who want to keep going after the festival.

Under tonight’s Full Moon in Gemini everything feels a little sharper. The air moves differently, conversations land in unexpected ways, and the energy on the dance floor comes alive. A Full Moon in Gemini is playful, electric, curious and socially alive. It’s also perfect timing for an event like this because Gemini energy thrives on movement, connection, exchange and the flow that happens between people.

Gemini lifts the mind and loosens the edges. It brings curiosity and spark, the kind that makes you drift between friends, wander into new corners and meet the people you didn’t expect.

This moon is a reminder to release the noise, speak what feels real and let the night shift whatever needs shifting. It’s a fitting backdrop for music, gatherings, late night moments and shared expression.

Gates are officially ope to Subsonic!

The valley is waking up and the first tents are already going up. If you’re on your way in, take your time on the road and stay aware. The drive into Riverwood Downs moves through open country, and roos and wombats are active right now. Slow down, keep your eyes up and look after each other on the way in.

Please arrive within the gate times listed on the website. It keeps entry smooth, keeps the road safe, and helps everyone land here without stress. If you’re early, take a break somewhere comfortable. If you’re running late, wait for the next window rather than rushing.

Once you turn into the valley, you’ll feel it. The sound systems warming up, the river flowing, and the site coming to life for the weekend ahead.

Getting to Subsonic + Early Entry Info

Early entry opens tomorrow and the valley is ready for the first arrivals. If you’re coming in early, aim for a daylight arrival, take it slow on the rural roads and follow crew directions as you approach Riverwood Downs on Worimi Country.

Buses
Our festival buses run from Sydney, Newcastle and key stops along the way. It’s the easiest way in and out, no parking needed. Routes, tickets and departure details are all on the website.

Driving In
If you’re arriving by car, make sure you’re prepared for winding country roads and reduced speeds as you drop into the valley. Carpool where you can, arrive early, and keep an eye on conditions. Parking info, arrival windows and access guidelines are all listed online.

The Alchemist Lounge returns to Subsonic Music Festival. It’s the perfect place to take your shoes off, decompress, and replenish before wandering back into the festival. A Moroccan Bedouin marquee, warm, textured, and a moment away from the rush outside. Stretch out on Persian carpets, melt into Victorian velvet lounges, be serenaded by laid-back vinyl sessions, sultry piano, and slow-bloom sounds that bring you back into your heart space. We’ll be pouring herbal elixirs, mocktails, tea and painting canvas while showing off the new Subsonic merch pieces with Leon Dream.

A meeting point. A wind-down space. A pocket of calm to reconnect with your crew before returning to the dance floor. Step off the dancefloor and into a bubble to sink into something softer. See you in the Alchemist Lounge.
