Set in Tangier, it follows 79-year-old María Ángeles as her life is disrupted when her daughter arrives with plans to sell her home and put María in a nursing home. María refuses. What begins as a family conflict becomes a journey of resistance, reinvention, and rediscovery. Warm, life-affirming, and rich with humour and humanity, it is a celebration of independence, identity, and the joy of living life entirely on your own terms. Calle Malaga shows that older people, especially women, have the right to choose how they live.
