The Malanda Show Society is proud to announce Petrina Callaghan will officially open the 2026 Malanda Show following the street procession on Friday, June 26th!
A dedicated community volunteer and passionate advocate for local history, Petrina is a valued member of the Eacham Historical Society. Through her involvement, she has contributed countless hours to preserving and sharing the stories, records and heritage that help define our region.
The Eacham Historical Society encourages the study of local history, maintains historical records and places of significance, and promotes the sharing of knowledge through exhibitions, talks, discussions and excursions. Petrina's commitment to these goals has helped ensure that our community's rich history remains accessible for future generations.
Earlier this year, the EHS celebrated an impressive 50 years of service to the community. As we gather for Malanda's biggest annual event, it is especially appropriate that someone who has worked so tirelessly to honour our past will help us celebrate our present and look towards our future.
We thank Petrina for her dedication, generosity and community spirit, and look forward to welcoming her as she officially opens the 2026 Malanda Show.
