HIGHLIGHTS FROM DAY 2 IN JAPAN 🇯🇵🌊

No wind again, but plenty of waves. Swell from Super Typhoon In-fa, which battered the Northern Mariana Islands on Friday, sent massive sets bombarding the event HQ. The beach somewhat disappeared, and almost all the sailors de-rigged and moved their kit to higher ground.

A very competitive SUP competition also filled the gap, with teams of 6 going head-to-head and the French coming out on top 🏆

The racing hasn't started yet but things got a little spicy this morning... a cyclone to the South of Japan is bringing some sizeable swell and, well, the beach somewhat disappeared!

It certainly made for an interesting day... with wind on the forecast, let's see what tomorrow brings as it could get pretty hectic on the race course if there's some swell to add into the mix! 🌊

Day 2 at the Fly ANA! Windsurfing World Cup in Yokosuka, Miura and it was another day playing the waiting game. Sadly the wind never showed but the action was still happening with what turned out to be a very competitive SUP competition. Teams of 6 battled it out head-to-head for glory, but it was the French who were victorious!

A light wind breeze graced us this morning on the opening day of the Fly ANA! Windsurfing World Cup. Enough to get the riders on the water, but sadly almost as soon as they went out, it dropped and swung direction and no racing could be completed. But that didn't stop the action - the local JWA Freestyle crew put on a tow-in show for the local fans and some of the riders put in their applications to be the next Ben Proffitt... I think it's safe to say his job is pretty secure for now...

WINNERS • ALOHA CLASSIC 2026

It all came down to the final day of the window, but Ho'okipa delivered once again and Marine Hunter and Marc Paré take the glory!

It's back-to-back Maui wins for Marine - and 3 Maui wins from the last 4 events, as she stomps her claim on the legendary spot. This victory bumps her up to second in the title race and only 15 points behind Tour Leader, Lina Erpenstein, who finished second in the Aloha. Maria Behrens sits third in both the Aloha Classic and the overall rankings, with all three women in contention for the title in Chile.

For Marc Paré, who is in search of back-to-back World Titles, his maiden Aloha Classic victory marks exactly where Marc is in his career - unstoppable in every location and he heads to Chile with only one person able to deny him of the World Title. Who is it? 2nd place Aloha Classic finisher, Bernd Roediger. Only a win in Chile would give Bernd the chance to take the title, and still it would come down to Pare's results to see whether the coveted trophy returns to Spain or Hawaii.

With results in every category, congratulations to all the winners and everyone who competed in another memorable Aloha Classic.
