Dawesville parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am at Dawesville Foreshore Reserve, Estuary Rd
Dawesville, WA, Australia. Dawesville parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners / walkers. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians, from juniors 5 years or older to those with decades of experience. All runners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we urge everybody to get involved in organising their local events at least 3 times per year.

Dawesville parkrun #572 – Headwind? What headwind?! 🌬️

A crazy headwind on the journey back made sure you earned every single metre today, testing the legs (and possibly the patience!) of all 85 of you who tackled our course.

But clearly, the wind wasn't going to stop everyone, with 11 of you achieving PBs! That's seriously impressive given the conditions. Huge congratulations!

Of course, it was just as windy for our fabulous volunteers, and a massive thank you to our team of 13 who braved the elements to make today's event happen:

Irene, Matilda, Stewart, Lynette, Mark, Jo, Sue, Rachel, Sam, Tom, Janine, Caitlyn and Christine.

We had some fantastic milestones to celebrate today:

Jo – 50 volunteer milestone!
Stella – 10 parkruns!
Dimitra – 25 parkruns!
Caitlyn – 150 parkruns!

We also welcomed some first-timers to the parkrun family. A big Dawesville welcome to Taneal Wood, Vicky Brown, Marina Puntigam, Alan Brown, Desley Mackenzie and Shelley Price. We hope you enjoyed your first taste of parkrun and that we'll see you again soon!

And a warm welcome to our visitors from Adelaide, Albany and England, along with anyone else visiting us today. We hope you enjoyed a little taste of Dawesville hospitality (and perhaps a little too much wind!).

A quick note about results: There seems to be a hiccup with the system sending out results emails today. The good news is that results have been processed and are available to view through your 5K parkrun app or online here:

Never done either role before? No worries! Both are easy to learn, and we’ll provide all the training and support you need.

We need these two spots filled for Saturday’s event to go ahead, so if you can lend a hand, please pop us a message or comment below :)

We’ve got a few spots to fill on this Saturday’s roster, and we’re recruiting for some VERY important positions (with very official-sounding titles):

⏱️ Keeper of Time – master of the stopwatch, guardian of your finish time!
🎟️ Finish Token Giver-outera – the dispenser of tokens, the keeper of the queue, the hero of the finish funnel!
🧩 Token Sorter-outera – bringer of order to the post-parkrun token chaos. Every token has a home!
🚤 Boat Ramp Marshal – protector of the parkrunners, watcher of the water, defender of the Dawesville course!

Think you have what it takes? No experience necessary, just a friendly face and a willingness to help.

Melbourne called, it wants its weather back! 😂
But a little wet weather wasn’t going to stop 108 beautiful souls from joining us for their Saturday morning parkrun.

A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers Aimee, Caitlyn, Elaine, Irene, Matilda, Janice, Steve, Stewart, Tania and Wayne. We couldn’t make parkrun happen without you!

We had 8 people trying parkrun for the very first time today. An extra shout-out to Jarrod White, who made quite the entrance by collecting token #1 on his very first parkrun! What a fantastic effort, Jarrod, and welcome to the parkrun family!

We also loved having visitors from the new Old Golf Course in Narrogin join us this morning. Thanks for making the trip to Dawesville — it was great to have you with us!

Boat Ramp Marshal needed this Saturday!

We’re looking for a lovely volunteer to help out as our Boat Ramp Marshal at this week’s parkrun.

It’s a great way to be part of the parkrun magic without needing to run or walk 5km. You’ll help keep our participants safe around the boat ramp and give everyone a friendly cheer as they make their way out and back on the course.

If you can lend us a hand this Saturday, let us know in the comments below or send us a message. Every volunteer makes a difference, and we’d love to have you on the team!
