A brilliant finale to a remarkable festival and a 12-month tour! 🥂📚✨

What a fitting way to close out Write Around the Murray’s 20th festival by featuring our Book of the Festival: A Great Act of Love by the incredible Heather Rose!

It was a captivating session as Heather chatted with moderator Jason Steger about her stunning historical fiction novel, inspired by a true story and set in the vineyards of colonial Tasmania. The conversation sparked wonderful questions from our engaged audience during the Q&A, making for a truly memorable hour.

To top it all off, we cracked open a bottle of 1947 Ch*****ne 😉 to help celebrate the very final stop of Heather’s massive 12-month tour and book launch! It was such a privilege to host her for this milestone 20th year. ❤️📖

That's a wrap on Day 5 of Write Around the Murray! 🎉📖

What an incredible day of storytelling, big ideas, and community connection as we celebrated our 20th milestone festival. From insightful discussions and brilliant performances with guests like Heather Rose, Jason Steger, Nick Steain, Amy Doak - Author, Debra Oswald, Jack Heath, Anna Snoekstra, Joanna Nell Author, and our wonderful showcase artists, to packed sessions and cherished moments shared with our festival family, today reminded us why we love bringing words to life right here on the border.

A massive thank you to all our wonderful authors, artists, supporters, and, most importantly, you - our amazing audience - for making this anniversary festival one for the history books! ❤️✨

Stepping onto the court and having a go! 🎾✨

At WAMbledon, we proved that sport is truly for everyone! It was so wonderful to see the courts buzzing with energy as participants jumped at the chance to try out all-abilities tennis, including wheelchair tennis and blind or low-vision tennis.

A massive shout-out to Harry and Maddie for giving us such fantastic demos on the court! A special congratulations goes out to Wodonga teenager Maddie Kelly, who has just returned from Lithuania as World Number 2 in her category of BLV (blind and low vision) tennis. What an inspiration! 🌟

A huge thank you to our wonderful supporters Wodonga Tennis Centre and .healthcare for helping make this incredible event happen. And a special shout-out to Monumental Ice Creamery for keeping everyone smiling with their delicious sweet treats! 🍦❤️🎽

Sharpening jokes and sharing plenty of laughs! 🎤😂✨

We had a fantastic time in Stand Up and Write Your Comedy with the brilliant Nick Steain!

Working with a dedicated group of writers, Nick guided everyone through targeted exercises to generate sharper jokes, heighten comedic instincts, and unlock fresh creative ideas. From essential tools for refining material to stagecraft insights, participants left with the practical skills to write smarter, perform stronger, and trust their unique comedic voice. ✍️🎭
