Two mates from Albury were on the long road home from a folk festival and thought "Hang on, why doesn't Albury have one of these?" They couldn't think of a reasonable answer, so they started one. By The Banks Music Festival is Albury/Wodonga's inaugural Indie-Folk inspired independent Music Festival, promoting the live performances of local, interstate and international artists, the collaboration

of creative arts, and the services of local people and businesses. Held on the banks of the Murray River, the not-for-personal profit Festival is run by a team of Alburians for the benefit and entertainment of the wider Albury/Wodonga area, to continue to promote the growing support around live music in the area. By The Banks will be an opportunity for the community to support the local and wider creative arts industry, and celebrate the work of various local businesses. Food, water and alcohol will be available at the event.
