Today, Tallgrass Film Association honors Juneteenth - a celebration of freedom, resilience, and Black history.

As a Kansas-based film organization, we also recognize the legacy of Gordon Parks, whose work as a photographer, filmmaker, and storyteller showed the power of image and story to challenge injustice and reflect truth.

Juneteenth is a reminder that history must be remembered, stories must be preserved, and Black voices must continue to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

Honoring freedom, history, and Black storytelling.

Join Tallgrass Film Association for a special Pride Month screening of Chasing Chasing Amy on June 18 at 7:00 PM at the Emily Bonavia Tallgrass Film Center.

Director Sav Rodgers will host a post-film Q&A and intergenerational conversation for members of the LGBTQ community and our allies.

Admission is free with a Wichita Pride button, a canned food or peanut butter donation for the Table of Hope pantry, or a suggested $5 donation.

Seating is limited, so RSVP early at tallgrassfilm.org.

This Memorial Day, Tallgrass Film Association pauses to honor and remember all who gave their lives in service to our country.

We are grateful for their sacrifice, their courage, and the freedoms their service helped protect. Today, we hold space for remembrance, reflection, and gratitude.
