What a weekend for West Monroe!🐊🚤

The North Louisiana Sportsman’s Expo welcomed more than 10,000 attendees and 100 vendors, generating an estimated $836,465 in economic impact for our community. Visitors came ready to shop, eat, stay and enjoy everything our area has to offer—and the Gar Rodeo helped add even more fun to the weekend!

We had an absolute blast watching anglers hit the water and bring in some impressive catches. Now we’re ready to do it all over again! Save the date for August 27–29, 2027! The Gar Rodeo and North Louisiana Sportsman’s Expo will once again take place during the same weekend, giving you plenty of reasons to grab your fishing gear and head to West Monroe.

Mark those calendars and get READY—next year will be even bigger!

Mark your calendars for August 27–28, 2027, and make plans to join us for the 3rd Annual West Monroe Gar Rodeo. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another exciting weekend of fishing, friendly competition and fun on the Ouachita River! The North Louisiana Sportsman’s Expo kicks off today at 3 p.m. at West Monroe Sports & Events, with more than 50 vendors, outdoor gear, demonstrations, food, live music and more.

Then it’s time to get ready for the West Monroe Gar Rodeo! Registration begins at 6 p.m. at Alley Park, followed by the captains’ meeting at 6:30 p.m. and the start of the rodeo at 7 p.m.

Can’t make it to registration? Late registration will be available at Lazarre Park from 9 p.m. to midnight.

It’s shaping up to be a great weekend in West Monroe, and we hope to see y’all out there!
