The City of West Monroe is excited to see continued growth and investment happening in our community! Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell and Fire Chief Daniel Overturf recently had the opportunity to tour a portion of the Lake Latigo development in West Monroe.🦆

Located behind the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, Lake Latigo is a multi-million dollar private development featuring one- and two-bedroom accommodations designed for both short- and long-term stays. In addition to lodging options, the development will soon offer recreational amenities that will be open to the public, including fishing opportunities and colorful paddle boat rentals on Lake Latigo.

Congratulations to Tracy Dugas, the 1st Place winner of the 2026 Ouachita RiverFest Duck Drop! 🦆💙💛

Tracy took home the $1,000 grand prize after her lucky duck came out on top during one of RiverFest’s favorite traditions! Thank you to everyone who adopted ducks, supported the event, and helped make this year’s Duck Drop another huge success.

A big thank you to the West Monroe High School Magnatech Robotics team for stepping up in a big way at this year’s Ouachita RiverFest! 🤖💙

In the very first year of our Bayou Blast Zone, these students played an important role in helping bring this new addition to life—running a booth and stepping up to help with the Super Slide, all while creating a smooth, enjoyable experience for festivalgoers. Their hard work, leadership, and willingness to serve did not go unnoticed. We’re grateful for their partnership and proud to see local students making an impact right here in West Monroe!
