Beulah Fire Department was honored to spend some time with members of Wake For Warriors during their visit to Lake Harding.

Wake for Warriors is a veteran-led organization that brings veterans together through adaptive water sports, camaraderie, and peer-to-peer support. Lake Harding holds a special place in the organization’s history as the location where Wake for Warriors began.

As a small gesture of our appreciation, members of our department presented Beulah Fire Department challenge coins to several of the veterans participating in the event.

We are grateful for the opportunity to meet these men and women, hear a little of their stories, and recognize their service and sacrifice. We also appreciate the work of Wake for Warriors and the volunteers and supporters who continue making these opportunities possible for our nation’s veterans.

We are continuing to ask for your input on the future of emergency medical services in Beulah.

No decisions have been made regarding an ambulance service or any other change to the current EMS system. The purpose of this survey is to gather community input as the District considers whether an independent EMS feasibility study should be conducted.

If conducted, that study would take a comprehensive look at our current EMS system, response needs, staffing, costs and funding, regional partnerships, and the potential impact of any changes on existing fire protection. It would evaluate multiple options rather than assume that Beulah should operate an ambulance.

If you have not already completed the survey, we encourage you to take a few minutes to share your thoughts. The survey will remain open through October 1.
