This year, we’re bringing more magic, more events, and more opportunities to celebrate than ever before. From brand-new festivities to the racing return of beloved holiday traditions, there’s something for every family, every friend group, and every Christmas lover in our community.
Christmas means a little bit more this year… and we want YOU to be a part of it. 🎅✨

🎠 14 Days Until Opening Day of the Merry-Go-Round — and Only 39 Days Until Christmas! 🎄
It’s almost Christmas time in Valley, and we’ve got a festive lineup of family fun for you and your loved ones to enjoy!
✨ Upcoming Holiday Events:
🎄 Monday, December 1st – Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall
Bring your family and ring in the start of the Christmas season with your community!
🏃♂️ Saturday, December 6th – 7th Annual “Sleigh the Course” 5K Run/Walk
Registration is $30 and includes a race t-shirt

🎁Stick around after the race for our Gingerbread House Decorating Competition! You can decorate a house on your own or team up with friends and family. Each house is $15, and all supplies are included. The winning design will earn a 1-year free membership to the Valley Community Center. Join us for some sweet holiday fun!
🍭 Saturday, December 13th – Candy Cane Hunt
Thousands of candy canes will be scattered throughout the field next to the Merry-Go-Round! Kids 12 and under can race to collect as many as they can — it’s sure to be a minty, sugar-filled adventure! This event is FREE to the community.
🥞 Saturday, December 20th – Pancakes with Santa at the East Alabama Fire Department.
Join us and our hometown heroes as they flip flapjacks with a special guest — Santa!
🎠 Wednesday, December 24th – Merry-Go-Round Closing Day
Enjoy your last rides of the season on Christmas Eve as we wrap up another magical year!
🎁 Bonus: Ornament Coloring Prize Drawing!
Stop by the Valley Community Center and color an ornament to hang on our tree — your name will be entered to win a 1-year FREE VCC membership!
