Interruptions to Andreas' career came in many forms: injuries, untimely illnesses, and broken training blocks. A cycle very familiar to many endurance athletes.

There are few athletes more closely connected to a race than is to Zegama. Since his first victory in 2007, the course has become one of the defining threads of his career. In the last 19 years, Kilian has won the race 11 times, and this weekend he returns to Zegama after skipping last year’s edition to reclaim his crown.
