Sevierville Mourns the Loss of Dolly Parton

The City of Sevierville and the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce join people around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton: an extraordinary artist, ambassador, philanthropist, humanitarian, and one of our own.

Born and raised here in Sevierville, Tennessee, Dolly carried the spirit of the Smoky Mountains with her throughout a remarkable career that touched generations. Despite becoming one of the world's most beloved entertainers, she never forgot her people or the place she called home. Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life in her beloved hometown.

Her love for our community was demonstrated through a lifetime of generosity and caring. Through her work with the Dollywood Foundation and Imagination Library, she changed the lives of countless children and families around the world. Following the devastating 2016 wildfires, her My People Fund provided direct financial assistance to local families when they needed it most.

Beyond her accomplishments, Dolly will be remembered for her kindness, humility, faith, humor, and genuine love for others. The world has lost an icon, but Sevierville has lost a daughter who never stopped loving her home.

On behalf of the City of Sevierville, we extend our deepest sympathies to Dolly's family, friends, and all whose lives she has touched.

Sevierville has always been proud to call Dolly Parton one of our own. We always will be.

City of Sevierville Fourth of July Holiday Schedules

The following service and facility schedules for the City of Sevierville will be in effect in observance of the Fourth of July holiday period Friday, July 3-Saturday, July 4.

•The City Park Family Aquatic Center will be open normal operating hours. NOTE: emergency water pump repairs for the large swimming pool are currently underway. The large pool will be closed during repairs; the splash pad and slide remain open. Please follow cityofsevierville on Facebook for updates.
•The Sevierville Golf Club and Mulligan’s Restaurant will be open normal operating hours.
•Residential garbage collected on Friday, July 3 will be collected earlier than usual, beginning at 5:00 a.m.
•Commercial garbage collection will remain on a regular schedule.
•City Hall will be closed July 3-4.
•The Community Center will be open regular hours on July 3 and closed on July 4.
•The Civic Center will be closed July 3-4.
•Sevierville Convention Center administrative offices will be closed July 3-4.
•Police Department records and administrative offices will be closed July 3-4.
•Water Department administrative offices will be closed July 3-4 (for emergency service, call 865-453-5522).
•Public Works Department administrative offices will be closed July 3-4.
