â¤ď¸Our dear friend and key supporter of the Womenâs Outdoor Connection community, Lilas, lost her mother unexpectedly this morning.
Many knew Marion as âMormor,â which means mother to all. She had a lovely Danish accent, a beautiful heart, and a way of making people feel welcome and cared for. She will be deeply missed by many.
Life can change quickly. Hug your loved ones a little tighter today.
Sharing these words from Lilasâ brother, Rene Rocky Ellis.

In Loving Memory of Marion Nowicki
This morning, the world became a little quieter as my mother, Marion Nowicki, passed peacefully in her sleep. While her departure was gentle, the impact of her absence is anything but. She was more than a motherâshe was a steady presence, a source of strength, and a reminder of what it means to care deeply and live with purpose.
Marion lived a life rooted in resilience and love. She carried herself with a quiet dignity, the kind that didnât seek recognition but earned it effortlessly. Whether through her words, her actions, or simply the way she showed up for those around her, she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
To me, she was everything a mother should be and more. She taught lessons that werenât always spokenâabout perseverance, kindness, and how to keep going even when life didnât make it easy. Those lessons donât fade; they become part of who I am.
Thereâs something profound about knowing she passed peacefully. It reflects the grace with which she lived her life. Still, no amount of peace softens the reality that sheâs no longer here to talk to, laugh with, or simply sit beside.
Today is filled with reflectionâon memories, on moments, on the countless ways she shaped our lives. And while there is grief, there is also gratitude. Gratitude for the time we had, for the foundation she built, and for the love that doesnât end just because sheâs gone.
Her story doesnât stop here. It continues through the lives she touched, the family she raised, and the legacy she leaves behind.
Rest peacefully, Mom.
You were deeply lovedâand always will be.â
LilasâŚwe love you.
