From ocean waves to city walls, this dynamic exhibition celebrates the creativity, rebellion, movement, and self-expression found in surf, skate, and graffiti culture. Featuring work by local artists alongside artists from the San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, the exhibition explores how these cultures have shaped a bold and unmistakably vibrant visual language across generations.

Join Marin County Free Library at the Marin Center Showcase Theater for a free screening of the 1968 BBC documentary The Mood of America, followed by a panel discussion exploring the history and impact of voluntary desegregation in the Sausalito Marin City School District.

The documentary captures perspectives from students, parents, school board members, and Principal Sidney Walton in the aftermath of the district’s 1965 desegregation plan.

Presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Marin County and Performing Stars of Marin.

It’s time to saddle up for the Marin Senior Fair!

Join us on Wednesday, September 16, for the 38th Annual Marin Senior Fair, Northern California’s largest and longest-running senior information event. With more than 150 exhibitors, the fair is a great opportunity for seniors, caregivers, and families to discover helpful resources, services, products, and activities all in one place.

This year’s “Not My First Rodeo: Saddle Up for a Better Future” theme brings a full day of western-themed entertainment, live performances, wellness screenings, vaccinations, raffle prizes, interactive activities, free morning coffee and more.

Best of all, admission and parking are free, and complimentary shuttle service is available to and from downtown San Rafael.

Think back to your last night at the Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium. Maybe it was a concert you still talk about, a comedian who had you laughing until your sides hurt, or watching someone you love walk across the stage at graduation.

For 50 years, the VMA has been part of the moments that stick with us. As we look ahead to reopening after construction, we want to hear from you!

The FINALS of the 50th San Francisco Comedy Competition are coming to the Marin Center on Saturday, September 26th. Produced right here in San Rafael by Fox Family Productions, this legendary competition has been credited with discovering many stars of the future.

After surviving the preliminary and semi-final rounds, five talented comedians will take the stage to deliver their best 15 minutes as they compete for glory and more than $20,000 in prize money.

Past finalist Joe Klocek hosts the evening, bringing his sharp wit and hilarious perspective to the stage.

Ever notice all the circles at the Marin County Civic Center? They’re everywhere, from the arches and roof details to the circular courtrooms and library.

Wright made the circle a defining part of the Civic Center’s design. In fact, the circular courtrooms were a major departure from traditional courtroom layouts and became a model copied in other courthouses around the country and beyond.

So next time you’re at the Civic Center, take a look around. You might be surprised by just how many circles you can spot!
