Spectators at the Clubhouse got plenty of thrills and spills on the Cityfront during Day 3 of Rolex Big Boat Series.

A flood tide and a fresh breeze added up to controlled chaos for some, barely controlled for others, and more than a few broaches around the finish line. Classic Rolex Big Boat conditions.

Competition has been fierce across all four ORC divisions, with teams battling for the ORC North American Championship title. Previous Rolex Big Boat Series winners Feather (ORC D) and Skeleton Key (ORC C) are both back in the fight for another win.

Day 3 is in the books. One day left to determine who comes out on top.

We love walking the docks in the morning and seeing the wide variety of people that come together for this regatta. The success of such a complex event depends on the hard work of race committee, club staff, competitors and volunteers and that’s what makes it so special!

Day 2 gave our sailors exactly what they wanted: wind.

Last night, boat owners were treated to a Q&A with Commodore Susan Ruhne and Cole Brauer at the Owner’s Dinner while the Rolex Tent hosted the Mustang Survival Crew Party.

It was a lively day of racing. Here’s the update on what happened out on the racecourse and back at the Club during Day 2 of Rolex Big Boat Series.

Sailing knows no age limit. This year’s Rolex Big Boat Series fleet spans competitors from 9 to 90.

We caught up with Luke Kaiser, our youngest competitor and our most senior competitor, S/C Ray Lotto after their first day of racing.

Age is just a number out on the water. That’s what makes this regatta, and this sport, so special.
