This Fair Friday, we pause to remember. 🇺🇸 The 9/11 Memorial Plaza at the California State Fair provides a place to reflect, honor and remember those whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001. The Plaza is open to the public only two times each year, on September 11 and during the CA State Fair, giving Fairgoers a meaningful opportunity to visit, pay their respects and learn more about its significance.

Today, we gathered at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza at Cal Expo to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to the heroes, first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

The ceremony went beautifully, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who came together to remember, reflect, and stand united. Thank you to all the families, community members, first responders, veterans, volunteers, organizers, and supporters who helped make today’s remembrance so meaningful.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Honoring and remembering those victims of the tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001, and those defining moments that followed in our nation’s history. As we approach September 11, Patriots’ Day, we’re taking a moment to look back at a September 11 Memorial Plaza Ceremony held at Cal Expo.

Tomorrow, September 11, we will gather once again at Cal Expo for a special ceremony commemorating the 25th Anniversary. This event is open to the public and we invite our community to join us, as we remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the lasting impact of that day.

🌾✨ Meet the culinary artists of An Evening On The Farm!

We’re bringing together some of Sacramento’s most talented culinary voices, including Chef Patrick Mulvaney, Chef Jodie Chavious, Juan Barajas, Nena Rasul, Tokiko Sawada, Jenn Millsap, Chef Mitch Vanagten, Michael Otis Catering and The Sacramento Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International for an unforgettable evening celebrating food, agriculture and community.

And it’s all for a great cause. ❤️

Proceeds benefit the California State Fair Foundation, a nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Funds will support the expansion of the CA State Fair Farm as a year-round agricultural living classroom and increase its capacity to provide fresh produce to local families.

In 2025 alone, the Farm grew and donated over 11,000 pounds of produce to the Sacramento Food Bank. Continued investment in the Farm and its greenhouse can help provide an even more consistent supply of fresh, locally grown food to our community.

Join us at the September 11 Memorial Plaza at Cal Expo as we come together to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11—remembering those we lost, honoring the survivors, and paying tribute to the heroes whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Ceremony is open to the public, featuring traditions observed in New York City, including a wreath laying, sequence of events, and NYPD memorial roll call.
