This past week, the Monroe County Recruit Training Program (MCRTP) for recruit firefighters completed the vehicle extrication training portion of the program.
This included the BPVR (Basic Passenger Vehicle Rescue) course, and additional in-service training. Recruits were trained on the many components of incidents involving Motor vehicle accidents. The topics covered included vehicle anatomy and common hazards, vehicle stabilization, extrication, and the wide range of equipment proficiency necessary for a successful rescue from a vehicle entrapment.
