We’ve been reflecting on the nonprofit organizations that have shaped our story along the way, including past beneficiary partner SAFEchild who partnered with Band Together in both 2008 and 2021.

The photos featured here take us back to May 10, 2008, when our community came together to raise more than $109,000 for them!

Former Executive Director Cristin DeRonja's remarks have stayed with us: “Band Together is not a fly-by-night musical gig, but a long-term commitment to our community.”

Over the years, we’ve seen firsthand how strong community partnerships can create lasting impact far beyond a single event or fundraising campaign. SAFEchild’s return as an Impact Partner in 2021 is a testament to the enduring relationships that make our work possible.

To hear that Band Together helped “make magic for an eternity” for children and families in our community is something we don’t take lightly.

Yes, we’re serious about creating impact for nonprofits across the Triangle. But we also believe doing good should be fun.

Live music. Dancing with friends. That’s what we've always been about.

At the end of the day our goal is to bring people together to celebrate, connect, and create lasting impact, all while having a really good time along the way.

to where it all began. On September 12, 2001, Phil Gruber, Shellie Sierra, Danny Rosin, Tom Lyon, and Skip Mangum came together with a simple question: How can we help?

What started as a conversation in the wake of 9/11 became Band Together's very first event, a four-band benefit concert that brought more than 1,000 people together and raised over $60,000 for families impacted by the attacks.

These photos capture the beginning of a movement built on music, community, and the belief that even small acts can create lasting impact.

Twenty-five years later, we're still inspired by the vision of those founders and the thousands of people who have helped carry that mission forward.❤️

For 25 years, we’ve worked to help nonprofits raise critical funding for their missions.

We recently asked past beneficiaries about the impact of our partnership, they talked about something even bigger than financial support.

Visibility. Confidence. Relationships. Momentum.

This reflection El Futuro last year stuck with us: "We’ve never been on such a big stage before, physically or metaphorically.”

Because the impact we create when we band together goes far beyond a single event. It’s access to a community of partners, volunteers, donors, supporters, and visibility opportunities all committed to strengthening nonprofit missions across the Triangle.

Thank you for being part of this village. Every follow, share, donation, and moment of support helps expand the reach of these organizations and the impact they make in our community.

25 Years. 160+ nonprofits. 206,000 standing ovations. $15.4M raised. Band Together was born in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. There was no blueprint. Just urgency and a desire to act. What began as a grassroots effort to harness the power of live music for social change has grown into something far bigger than any one concert or campaign. After 25 years the heart of our organization remains unchanged: the belief that music can bring people together, and together, people can change a community.

Today, we're proud to premiere Infinite Good, a short film celebrating the people, moments, and impact that have shaped Band Together's first quarter century. A special thank you to our friends at Chair 8, whose partnership helped bring this story to life.

To everyone who has volunteered, donated, sponsored, attended a show, or believed in our mission along the way, thank you. This story belongs to all of you. We invite you to watch and celebrate 25 years of music + impact. 🍿🎬
