Spoken word open mic is a monthly community event featuring poetry and short prose, held inside The Peregrine at the back stage. Bring your friends and your scribbled musings.

Our featured poet for February is our very own Susan Lang. Prescott writer Susan Lang is the author of 5 novels and a memoir. Her short stories and poems have been published in magazines such as Idaho Review, Red Rock Review, Iris, and The Raven Review.

She founded and directed the Southwest Writers Series and Hassayampa Institute for Creative Writing at Yavapai College. Currently, Lang is Faculty Emerita at Yavapai College, and serves as Event Coordinator at the Peregrine Book Company in Prescott, Arizona.

EVENT DETAILS
WHEN: Second Wednesday of each month Doors open at 5:45 PM; readings begin at 6:00 PM.
FORMAT: The evening opens with a 15 minute reading by a local writer, followed by additional readers sharing 10 minute excerpts from their novels, memoirs, short stories, or other fiction and nonfiction works. Please note: this event does not include poetry or music.
DONATION: A suggested $5 contribution helps cover event expenses.
REFRESHMENTS: Light refreshments are provided.
