Prescott Bluegrass Festival

Prescott Bluegrass Festival Annual Prescott Bluegrass Festival, Yavapai Courthouse Plaza in downtown Prescott, Arizona, June 21 & 22, 2025. A FREE Prescott Chamber of Commerce Event!

The Prescott Bluegrass Festival is celebrating its 40th year June 26 & 27, 2021. The festival started as a fiddle contest dedicated to a local fiddler. In the mid-80's it took on the character of a typical bluegrass festival. Until the mid-’90s, the event was held at Watson Lake Park and then moved to its current downtown location on the Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza in 1996. At that time the ev

ent changed character again to one with FREE admission. It remains the only free bluegrass festival of its caliber in the western United States. Financial support comes from local businesses, the City of Prescott, and many additional Friends of Bluegrass, as well as raffle sales, festival tee shirts, and a festival program. The Prescott Chamber of Commerce coordinates the festival and strives to bring audiences a variety of bluegrass shows- traditional and contemporary; national, regional, and local groups; family and non-family bands – while maintaining the highest standards for the music.

Meet the 44th Bluegrass Festival Headliner Band!!

🎶 38 Years of Bluegrass Magic 🎶

Since 1987, High Plains Tradition has proudly carried the torch as Colorado’s longest-running Bluegrass band! From smoky barrooms to the bright lights of major festivals, we've taken our Traditional Bluegrass sound coast to coast , California to Kentucky, Texas to Canada and across the Atlantic for 6 unforgettable tours of Ireland.

🎻 Founding members Kenny Pabst & Doug Elrick have been here from the start. Alongside Steve Gilmore (guitar/vocals), Mark Leslie (banjo/vocals), and Bobbie Vickery (fiddle/vocals), we bring a mix of pure tradition with a splash of Country, Swing—even a Gershwin tune or two! You never know what will happen on stage… but it’ll always be high-energy, heartfelt, and hilarious.

💬 Fans say:

“WOW.”
“We never expected that… they’re SO entertaining!”
